Just ordered this handy gadget

Let us know how it works!

It's gotta be easier than this...

I like that little gadget that squishes the bread into a sandwich. It's great for grilled cheese or ham and cheese because it seals all edges. When you bite into it...yummy! I have two of them!

This one looks good too:

I don't have enough cabinet space for single-application appliances. If I wanted to make grilled cheese, I would either use my Cuisinart Griddler or a cast iron skillet.

Same here. My little kitchen only has 42 inches of counter space!

These days I toast the bread add the cheese and zap it in the microwave for a few seconds.

It tastes about half as good as a real grilled cheese sandwich but it saves a few calories and I don't have to wash the pan.

That gadget for grilled cheese looks like it might be a bear to clean melted cheese from the bottom, unless the bottom unhinges.

People ask what do retirees do to fill their days with. When grilled cheese sandwiches are going to be on the menu it's time to drag out the bread maker, bake & cut bread into Texas toast size slices then drag out the cast iron pan. I guess the cast iron weight used to press the sandwiches could be a gadget.

Counter space is a pet peeve of my wife so putting 2 eight foot long shelves on the wall in our garage to hold the gadgets makes her happy. Everything from an apple peeler to a gadget for making curly potato fries is out there.

Pappy, that sounds like a nice Christmas gift for your ornery neighbor!:p
