I'm not sure what age one becomes a Senior, but if nothing else i'm close, lol. Just thought I would say "Hey" and introduce myself. My name is Brenda, I live in South Carolina with my hubby Tony and our doggie daughter Dusty, on our little piece of paradise that we call our farm.
:)

Hi Seabreezy, I live on a lifestyle block in NZ raising a few cattle and haymaking. Look forward to reading about your little piece of paradise.

Hello Seabreezy, and welcome!! Looking forward to chatting with you!! :)

Welcome, Seabreezy, from another antipodean member of the forum.

Don't assume that all of us know anything at all about Sth Carolina. We'd love to hear about your neck of the woods.

Welcome to the forum Seabreezy.....

Hi Brenda, and we're neighbors -- kinda, sorta. I live in Charlotte, NC, and would love to know how close we are in distance. I'm an old lady, can't possibly cause you any harm (lol) but if you'd rather keep that private, I totally understand. (wink!)

Welcome to our great lil group, with some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. We're glad to have you.

Welcome to the forum, Brenda!

I'm afraid I'm fresh out of "Howdy's" to swap - would you be interested in a few old "Howz It Hangin'"s? I've kept them in a Zip-Loc bag for the last 12 years because although I don't use them anymore I thought I might sell them on eBay some day.

I also have a few "What's Up?"'s - the dog was chewing on them so they aren't in mint condition, but I think they're still usable.

Finally I have one "Greetings, Felicitations and Salutations", but it's only good if you have a British accent or can rent one somewhere.

Wow everybody, I don't think i've ever felt as welcome as I do here! I think I might like it here, LOL.

For Katybug, I live in Gaston, SC, which is in Lexington County. Gaston is about 10 miles below Lexington.

Tony and I have lived in our home for 5 years now. It's about an acre and a third, and we love it. On one side of us is a huge agricultural field, they grow cotton and corn there, I worry about the chemicals they probably use, but LOVE that no one lives on that side of us.

We have a pretty good size garden, seems like it gets bigger every year, lol. Right now it's over 20 feet wide and 80 feet long. Tony does most of the work there, I help when I am able to. I do most of the canning of what we grow, he helps me sometimes too. He is already making another garden to grow just corn in. This year we grew some really good sweet corn, and now he has 5 or 6 people, probably more than that, who have offered to buy some so he is making plans to grow a LOT of corn next season. He says he missed his calling to be a farmer, LOL. If only he had a tractor!!

He is a truck driver for a company here, and thankfully is home every night since he drives local and does pick up and delivery work. Me, well I work at home..my job is taking care of the house, Dusty the dog. I have some chronic medical issues that keep me home, but I do my best not to let that stop me from doing what I love.

When I got sick, Tony told me to quit my job, stay home and take care of myself, and he would bring home the paycheck. It's tough living on one income, but somehow we get through. We are pretty much homebodies these days, the garden takes up so much of our free time, but it's something we enjoy.

Tony is a big aviation fan, so we enjoy air shows, we also love going down to the coast, which is only a couple hour drive from where we live. We take our crab nets and do some crabbing, lots of fun! I guess most would say we are pretty boring now, LOL, far from the ole' harley days, when we were out friday nights, and all weekend riding, now we are tired by 9 pm on a friday night and can't hardly keep our eyes open! What a shame! LOL.

That's enough about us for now, don't wanna bore everyone. I look forward to making lots of friends here. Thanks for such a warm welcome

Brenda, as you know Charlotte is 1-1/2 hrs from Columbia and I know Gaston isn't far from there.....so we are practically neighbors! Again, welcome!
