Keeping small notepads for list making?

I'm a phone and computer user for lists.
These things cost a lot, I may as well use them.
Its easier to find your list when its on one device or the other.
Reduces clutter and relieves you of the responsibilty of throwing them out.
Once something is on a device, sending the list to someone else is an easily available option.
I keep post-it notes if I want a temporary reminder around the house somewhere.
Businesses use computers to reduce the amount of paper that needs to be stored and we should too.

carry those in my purse for just in cases

I love the Listonic app on my phone. It has a list of everything I would buy at the store. One click on the item adds it to the checked section, and once I add the item to the cart, one click removes it. You can even have lists for travel items, or whatever you want. If it's a long list, there is a search feature that locates it immediately.

I return junk mail to the post office -- return to sender.
When I'm doing something, like reading posts on this forum my mind will wander. My wife calls it chasing rabbits. I keep little notepad to jot down all kinds of things. Sometimes its a word that I need defined, or something I should pickup at the grocery, or something I need a reminder to do.
I also use the reminder function on my phone and a countdown widget to keep me mindful of important dates down the road.

Many decades ago I invented The Grocery Planner...a lightweight calculator-type of alphabet printer which attached to your fridge with back magnets.
The 4 main buttons we're Milk, Bread, Butter, Eggs...for the rest of your groceries you would just type in the name...like...bananas
Then, you'd simply hit print and your grocery list would print out. Just tear and go.
I never saw the idea through, but often wondered if it could have been a big seller.

Any more I have the attention span of a squirrel. If I want to remember something I need to write it down. Now. So I have note pads. Everywhere.
Mom belonged to a slew of organizations that sent her blank greeting cards and other what nots. I inherited these. I kept a box of them for grocery lists. I donated the rest to the nursing home.
I make my small note pads from junk mail. I tear the sheets in half and use a binder clip to hold them.

I also keep a running tab with Walmart. If I see an ad online that catches my eye I l will look it up and put it in my cart. I dont trust random web sites.
FYI. Its a waste of your time to mark junk mail return to sender. The PO just tosses it.
If they provide a postpaid envelope stuff some stuff it in it and send it back to them.
Doesnt have to be their stuff. Dont include any pages with your name for obvious reasons.

I send myself emails. But I did have a talk with ai, and going to use something called Microsoft To Do ... it looks easy. Will continue with emails from my phone to me and gmail calendar for appointments.

We still have piles of notepads and "Tally Books" (Oilfield folks will know) all piled up.
But we both have fallen into the convenience of using our phones and the dictation thing for notes.....
I do however, make it a point to send out hand wrote Cards and notes afew times per year - all written in cursive

Yes,I also save blank junk mail.
AND I save all my greeting cards from friends and family and use the blank sides for lists. Many timed the blank part is the other side of the greeting picture. Then I am reminded of who sent me that card and for what occasion. Brings me back to some wonderful memories.

In college I carried a small spiral note pad in my shirt pocket. Most classes had so many assignments due next week, next month, etc, etc. I don't know how I could keep track of all of them without my note book. I use my phone now, but phones have a way of losing data into cyberspace, but I don't have deadlines anymore that are too important to lose, so the phone is OK. Just less reliable.
My son and I love our paper. After the back to school sales are over, Walmart sells their spiral student notebooks for 25 cents and I usually buy ten. We actually use them up every year. Then I buy the legal pads from tiny to large, and composition books for special writings.
Son seems to be on some charity master list of soft touches. He gets begging letters almost daily that include little note pads. As if he's going to feel such gratitude for those ten page pads that he will send their suggested amount of $100. We use them for grocery lists and scrabble score pads.
My husband does taxes for people and his heart sinks when he asks them for forms or information and they say brightly, "Oh it's right here on my phone" Then it takes them ten minutes to find it.

I'm not the soft touch, so I don't get a lot of those, maybe one pad of 10 each year, so I put them some place and forget about them, but sometimes they show up, and I'll use one page for a book mark.

Yup. Wife does all the charity giving and we now have at least 30-40 of those little note pads that they send in the mail. We're going through these this week and will recycle 90% of them. We'll never have to purchase a note pad.

I am also one of those who gets charity junk mail and learned early on to open them and quickly check for a note pad before discarding the rest. Occasionally there will be a bookmark included and I love bookmarks.
