And also trying to move there. We'll be the new immigration problem. This is just another example of how things are headed in America. If this bone headed idea becomes law, I can see a situation where some Americans will be driving up to Canada to get vaccinations, for their children.
IMO serious issues concerning public health should be able to discussed. The first question I would ask is, "Is this report factual?" If it is, it ought to be discussed. No way this isn't a politically motivated thread.
I see it more as news about a potential public health risk, if something like that were to go into effect, which hopefully it won't. The nature of the responses could turn it into something political (Lord knows that's happened here before). Sometimes there's a very fine line between what's important news and what's political, especially about policies that affect us healthwise and financially. Doesn't mean we shouldn't be made aware of these things. No way this isn't a politically motivated thread.
I think it's more of a health related thread because while we're all on our way out, most of us have grandchildren and great-grandchildren who may be injured by this. I asked my daughter yesterday, if her little kids are fully vaccinated. I was thrilled when she said yes.No way this isn't a politically motivated thread.
Ahh, but that's just it. It isn't."Is this report factual?"
To be clear. Canada needs potential Immigrants who are young, well educated University graduates whose skills are in demand in our country. We also need skilled trades people, who have at least 5 years of experience in their trade or craft. And also trying to move there. We'll be the new immigration problem.
You left out the people who are going to grow the carrots, onions, cabbage, potatoes, milk the cows and 100's of other food items that are produced in CA?To be clear. Canada needs potential Immigrants who are young, well educated University graduates whose skills are in demand in our country. On the other hand, Canada does not have a senior's Visa program. I get asked about this quite frequently on another forum that deals with Canadian immigration. Americans can visit Canada, as tourists, for up to 183 days in any 12 month period of time but as visitors they cannot work or attend school in Canada,. For that you must apply for, and receive a work or study visa from our Government. JIM.
The Canadian Federal Government has been warning about the increasing number of measles cases in Canada, that are linked to travelers coming from Pakistan to Canada by air. Just yesterday, there was a TV news warning about a possible transmission at the Toronto International airport, because of an infected child , who arrived from Pakistan the day before. LINK.My aunt was confined to a wheelchair almost her whole life (from around age ten) because of polio. Banning the vaccine would put USA on a par with Afghanistan and Pakistan. Good luck with that.
It would be naïve to think it wasn't intentional.Gotta lovethe way conversations take off before anyone bothers to do a little research and spreads falsehoods. Sheesh, now we know how ugly rumors get started. No one's going to take away the polio vaccine.

Someone's *lawyer* can request that all the McDonald's on the planet be shut down... doesn't mean I'll never have a Big Mac again. Ouch... are my eyes gonna stick this way?It would be naïve to think it wasn't intentional.
I guess people are just taking into account the attitude of the guy at the centre of this rumour. And the fact that it's his lawyer who was musing about the idea, is more fuel for that fire. Maybe he should keep his ridiculous ideas to himself. Especially as both countries have developed quite a culture of vaccine hesitancy.Gotta lovethe way conversations take off before anyone bothers to do a little research and spreads falsehoods. The topic of the thread is the lawyer, Siri, perhaps one should read and understand the thread title and then comment.Gotta lovethe way conversations take off before anyone bothers to do a little research and spreads falsehoods. It wasn't mere "musing" on the part of the lawyer, Siri.I guess people are just taking into account the attitude of the guy at the centre of this rumour.
