Kirk Douglas dead age 103

We are getting old. An Anchor at one of our local TV stations proclaimed three times that Kurt Douglas had died! You will live on in our hearts, Kirk!

Really sorry to see him go. He was "one of a kind".

Piece of trivia: in his first movie, the studio filled in the cleft in his chin with some sort of skin putty. They thought that the cleft would turn women off. Wrong-o. I like "manly".....

I recall many decades ago he was on a talk show and was asked about Burt Lancaster his good friend. Lancaster was suffering with Alzheimer's and Douglas replied that he was not well and said no more in a way cluing the host to change the subject. Both men were healthy and took care of themselves all their lives yet one died young and the other lived to 103.

Sounds like Kirk's second wife, Anne, was a great stepmother. This is what Douglas had to say about her =

In his foreword for the 2017, book Kirk and Anne, Michael Douglas called his stepmother, Anne, a lioness. 'She's used it to take care of all of us, especially my father. I remember as a young boy, after my father and my mother Diana divorced, not only did Anne treat my brother Joel and I was though we were always family, she invariably showed great love and respect to our mother.' She sounds like a "class act." I never heard of her until now, which is probably a good thing in Hollywood.

Has anybody else watched The Kaminsky Method (Netflix), co-starring Michael Douglas, along with Alan Arkin? It's a wonderful series.

wow , what a good age...and his wife is still going strong at 100, and still as pretty....

they say , kirk ,only became famous, because of his chisel chin and dimple 😂😂

Yes, his look was distinctive. I love both of those characteristics myself, so I understand. He had quite a (long) life. May he R.I.P

awwww, well, 103 is a fantastic age... and it helps if you have a loving family to support you, as he and his wife did. May he R.I.P..

is he the the oldest actor ever ? has any hollywood actor been older when they passed ? I'm just wondering...

he is survived by his wife, altho' I know she is very poorly now and needs round the clock care...

its so sad to see....the face lifts theyve had done..!!....but still a lovely couple ...

Myself and probably only 3 other people really likes an old film of his (aside from the biblical costumers): Lonely are the Brave. Is there a fifth person here that knows that film?

Yes, it's great. A 20th century Western, and I think it was based on a book by Edward Abbey. The guy could act.

He was also excellent in Paths of Glory, Seven Days in May, Two Weeks in Another Town, and many other films.

He was the best and in lots of movies when I was young.

RIP Kirk Douglas.

Mike.
