Orlando International Airport (OIA) just reported,in the last 2 weeks, they have seized 6 FULLY loaded handguns from a passengers at the check-in inspection.

I don't really know what the penalty is but I found it is different from airport to airport...
Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport now allows anyone in that airport to carry a weapon since July 1st. but not at security check-in.

Why would anyone in a secured place like this airport have the needs to carry a weapon ????

My idea of a real penalty is banishment from flying for 2 years on any airline that does business in the U.S

Six in two weeks? That is very disturbing.
Orlando is in Florida, right?

Did they think that the local laws trump common sense?
Any idea what excuses they gave?

Orlando (MCO) is a large "MUST GO"airport that is within 20 miles is the locations of Disneyworld and Universal Studios . Kennedy Space Center is about 40 miles east.

Guessing what all gun nuts say "Oh I forgot it was in there".

That number "6" is kinda low when you compare all airports in the U.S.
