Ladies, Do you have a special scent?

My first "perfume" was a bottle of Yardley lotion with a rose smell. Next came, "Wind Song" the ads said it "whispers your name," by the time I got to college "Ambush" was the fad and the entire dorm reeked of it on Saturday night. A few years later we were all into anything natural and I had soap that smelled like oatmeal.

These days I only wear scent if I'm getting dressed up and going somewhere special. Then I put a tiny bit on my wrists only, so that I can wash it off as soon as, I get home.

During this past year I think I usually walked in a cloud of bleach.

I love some of the old scents. Some I can get others I haven't seen for years.
I like Emeraude and Wind Song. For after bath I loved Jean Nate and 4711.
I use Tabu in the dead of winter and just a drop. It is really strong and has a heavy scent but I like it. Hubby says it makes his eyes water. lol
My first scent that my mom let me use was apple blossom toilet water.
I told my grandson and he was shocked to know that I sprinkled myself with water from the toilet. I told my daughter and she had no idea what it was either. Am I really that old?
I doubt there is anything these days called toilet water. That's a good thing.

Chanel N°5
Bath & Body Works Mist

Back in the day....I can still smell the perfume my Great Aunt would wear ~Babe~ and I used to wear ~Sweet Honesty~ from Avon......along time ago.

Thanks for jogging my memory Ruth, I just remembered my mom used to have the whole Jean Nate collection too.

Unless it’s for a special occasion, absolutely everything is unscented. This includes for DH too.

Sometimes when I order something they give those tiny vials and those go in my travel kit.

In my youth (i.e. <50) I wore Channel No 5 or Shalimar.

I was given Shalimar as a gift when I was 16 and it was really nice stuff. I often wondered if Shalimar got her name from this.

I'm a fan of just smelling CLEAN...No perfume ever.
BUT I got one of those scratch n sniff samples in the mail
and it smells light and clean, used in extreme moderation maybe.

I very lightly dabbed the paper sample on one wrist and
it smells very good even though I don't like rose water.
One teensy drop of this on one wrist would be plenty!

Then take that one wrist and barely touch it to other areas
to "spread the wealth". Next time you're in a department
store, ask them for a free sample...just for fun. Or do
they even do that anymore? I never go to malls.

What?? $85 for a 1.7 oz spray.
I'm out. It's not THAT good unless you have a lover maybe

I have indulged myself with the same fragrance for about the last 40 years. It is called Dioressence and it is my signature cologne. I spray lightly and a bottle lasts a full year if used every day. It is a youthful perfume and I have sometimes been asked by a stranger what I am wearing because they liked it. The funny thing is that once I have applied it I am not aware that I am wearing it.

CLEAN Original before they reformulated it. I bought several bottles of the first vintage and use it sparingly. People don't ask what I'm wearing when I use it but I'll get comments that I smell good, or people will ask what kind of shampoo or body wash I use. I don't know why they messed with the 'original' Original scent and made it more perfumey since most people who bought it were going for the shower fresh smell.

Ladies, Do you have a special scent?

My lady and I don't often use

But, when she does, its patchouli

Me? Irish Spring soap

I occasionally use 2 little squirts of perfume but not often. If I wanna smell nice I like scented lotions. Mostly because of the COPD I avoid scented things like perfumes.
