I'm was having coffee yesterday, three ladies sat opposite me. I done a double take because they looked like super smooth Porcelain Dolls.
How long must that take to look so perfect? Everything "Just So"

It all depends on what they have naturally, to start that process with ....lol .. a young person - fairly quick!

Older women look much better with less make-up.
... IMO make-up isn't what make an older woman attractive at all .. It's her style, personality and how she carries herself.

My ex wife had to get up at 4am to leave for work at 6:30. I left for work at 6am, so I had 2 hours to watch her in front of the mirror putting on makeup & putting rollers in her hair (which was fine without them). And thinking, "What a lot of time to waste out of her life."

The Irony is that I use to wear more make-up when I was a teen when I didn't need it than I do now.. it takes me about 5 minutes to put lipstick blusher and mascara on these days.. but my younger sister is like your wife..OMG..if it's a weekend and she's going out on the evening, it's absolutely common for her to start on her face and hair 5 hours earlier..

When we were teens, she'd sit down on the floor in front of her wardrobe mirror, surrounded by all her paraphernalia .. cup of tea, cigarettes.. and not be ready to go out until 9pm.., and then after all that we'd only be out a couple of hours and everything would close for the night . She didn't mind taking all that time tho' it was more important to her that people saw her as a 'Beauty''... than that she have more time to enjoy the evening..

Being a transgender MtF women who fully transitioned back in 1991 in my early stages of transitioning I would wear a lot of make up. Now I don't wear that much at all or really more more then the average women. It may take me about 10 minutes or so to do the entire process now.

I guess it probably didn't take longer than 10 minutes, just to do moisterizer, under-eye circle makeup, foundation, and powder. No mascara or eye-shadow because my eyes are too sensitive and turn even redder. No lipstick because i don't like the look.
But, since Covid and working at home and wearing masks if going anywhere, I have enjoyed just having my own face. I wish I could always just do my own face but if forced to go back to the office I will probably go back to my old routine. My face is the type that easily gets red blotches so a correcting foundation + translucent powder made me feel less insecure.
