Lakers Kobe Bryant killed in helicopter crash

A lot of people get really wrapped up in professional sports. It's almost like a religion, and star players are like saints. When one of their heroes dies, they grieve like they were family. It seems curious to me, but I guess it's harmless.

Some feel the same about people in show business. And, I suppose in a way, professional sports are a form of show business too.

I feel bad for the people who were killed in that crash and their friends and families. But, all the excess repetitive coverage isn't going to bring them back.

In yesterday's NYT sports section, they had 4 pages devoted to Kobe Bryant
I thought to myself'Seriously,enough already'
I guess it was slow sports news day

I agree......Like so many things on the news, they just run it into the ground....[no pun intended]

The sad thing really is, as in a case like this, the issue [even a death] becomes one more of annoyance. Sometimes ya just want to scream SHUT-UP.
