Latest Cyber criminal Captcha, hi-jacks your computer

We all know those ''Captcha' boxes where they ask you to click on the wheels, or the motorbikes, or the crossings in the boxed pictures ... to get into a site...

Well criminals have now hi-jacked some of those and made them fake.... so watch this short video showing you what to avoid to prevent your computer from being Hi-jacked !
But the 'real issue' is that your antivirus software should catch this. You should never start a session on your device without updating your antivirus software if you don't have automatic updates. One article I read, for what it's worth, states 1/3rd of computer users browse without an antivirus.

yes but not everybody does, ...and not everyone is aware they need to do this... and it's for those people, or any of us who are too trusting..to be warned about

Thanks for that Holls. I've never seen a captcha do that. We use them at work so I'm at least familiar with how they work. If I saw that I'd be shutting it down.

you're welcome Marci... as you say you use them at work and so do many of us at home, we're so familiar with them it would be very easy .. to fall into that trap...

I missed this thread until I came across this one:
Quick Warning About “Click Fix” Scams....

Thanks for this, @hollydolly, and what a great resource this woman is. She seems to find no need to sprinkle two minutes worth of information into 15 minutes of blathering.

While many of us are unlikely to fall for this scheme as it's currently shown, the overarching warning Captchas and other verification tools are being hacked so we need to be wary.

I agree.. I like her for not padding out her info with nonsensical chat...straight to the point... and no messing about !

Pleased you found this useful, I did post it originally last week...
