Latest innovation in housing..

That barn housing looks great, but I would love to do up an old ship container to make up a tiny house, suitable for retirees.

@Kaila 👍...latest 'thing' for large multi-level stories..
Is..the personal elevator.
In the part of Florida I lived building codes required that most houses be built on pilings, so lots of stairs. Most of these houses had some kind of elevator. We had the poor man's version, a Beach Butler. It was sold as a cargo lift, not an elevator but most people used it as an elevator, me included. The richer folks had legal elevators.

I will point out that..........Living inside a METAL structure is fraught with problems like........Mould, moisture, the need for vapor barriers, insulation, and echoing in that metal can. Many communities will not approve such a structure for the above reasons. JimB.

At first read, I thought the suggestion in this post,
was to turn an old beached ship (not a seaworthy one)
into a home,
instead of changing over a barn.:geek:
Which seems intriguing to me. Would be fascinating.
Not sure anyone here has a picture of such. ;)

Ship container.....yes, I have seen pictures of those tiny houses.
Sort of the opposite of these barn houses.
Oh, I forgot already, that the proper term is barnominium?:D

Thanks for the light topic thread, @Jace
And for all of the entertaining posts, all of you.

Note: Living in New England, Have seen many coastal shipwrecks.
Left for the history, or because no one gave the money for removal.

Would be interesting to see one of those, redone into a magnificent Ocean View Home. ;) :geek:

It could even have an aquarium type view, from whatever floor room, the family holiday dinner with all the fixin's
would be served.🙃😁

In one episode of the series "You Live in What?", a man had done just that.

He had the front half of an old ferry (I believe) hauled to a bluff overlooking Lake Michigan(?), with the prow sticking out over the lake. He had the interior beautifully done up in nautical style.
