That barn housing looks great, but I would love to do up an old ship container to make up a tiny house, suitable for retirees.
In the part of Florida I lived building codes required that most houses be built on pilings, so lots of stairs. Most of these houses had some kind of elevator. We had the poor man's version, a Beach Butler. It was sold as a cargo lift, not an elevator but most people used it as an elevator, me included. The richer folks had legal elevators.@Kaila...latest 'thing' for large multi-level stories..
Is..the personal elevator.
I will point out that..........Living inside a METAL structure is fraught with problems like........Mould, moisture, the need for vapor barriers, insulation, and echoing in that metal can. Many communities will not approve such a structure for the above reasons. At first read, I thought the suggestion in this post,That barn housing looks great, but I would love to do up an old ship container to make up a tiny house, suitable for retirees.
In one episode of the series "You Live in What?", a man had done just that.Note: Living in New England, Have seen many coastal shipwrecks.
Left for the history, or because no one gave the money for removal.
Would be interesting to see one of those, redone into a magnificent Ocean View Home.![]()
