Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi arrived in Moscow on Sunday to consult with Russian President Vladimir Putin following US strikes on key nuclear sites, Iran’s semi-official Fars News Agency said.

Earlier, Russia’s foreign ministry said it “strongly condemns” the US strikes, calling them an “irresponsible decision” that “flagrantly violates international law,” despite Moscow having repeatedly violated international law in its ongoing, unprovoked war in Ukraine.

“We call for an end to aggression and for increased efforts to create conditions for returning the situation to a political and diplomatic track,” the ministry said, warning that the US strikes mean “a dangerous round of escalation has begun,” which risks “further undermining” security in the region

Russians are too busy with the war in Ukraine now. Perhaps Putin would rather loose influence in the Middle East than loosing Ukraine War. Look what happened in Syria this year.

I would say both actions are - 2 wrongs don't make a right.
 
It's a political war, and therefore will have political ramifications. I don't see much of any gains.

Put it this way - there was a war in Afghanistan to bring about change. All these years later, how much better is it really?

Come on people, we're all oldsters here and will remember the history of the region. For example, Iraq, with the help of the US, and under Saddam Hussein, invaded Iran in 1980 to bring about "regime change". The war went on for the best part of a decade.

So where did that lead us? There is also a discussion to be had (though highly unlikely) about just whom, in the region, are the aggressors.
