Laundry..."....

What's the most annoying thing? Putting the damn clothes away after they're done!!
Hey I make a game out of it. I roll up the socks and toss them into my sock basket from 10 feet away. I give myself points for the ones that land in. I don't iron. I just hang everything up on hangers. I separate everything in the laundry room into my laundry basket and then it's easy to pick them up and hang them.
I don't separate colors or anything. Nothing gets really dirty. I use cold water. Clothes wear out more from washing than from wearing. Notice the ton of lint in the dryer?

What's the most annoying thing about laundry?
Everything! LOL!

In all seriousness, I don't mind doing laundry. Take ironing for instance, my favourite time to iron is in the early evening, and if it's a warm summer evening where I have all the windows opened in the house, I'm in heaven! One of my absolute simple pleasures!

Call me crazy, but back in the baby days in our house, this old-fashioned mom used to love folding diapers. I'd wait until the house was quiet (everyone in bed) and out would come the laundry basket full of diapers. Basket was dumped onto the living floor, and while watching TV, I'd go to work folding diapers.

Another simple pleasure of mine... clothesline drying! Been hanging washing to dry for the better part of 40 years now, and never grow tired of it. Hearing the pulleys squeak with every pull and push of the line, the action of pinning things to the line, the look, the feeling, it all fits so well into my life.

Oh, and folding, I love folding. Do think I have a fetish for neat and proper folded washing/laundry.

The worst part for me is when you have a bulky item like a blanket in the machine, it throws the load off balance, and then the washer bumps and thuds in spin cycle as if it's about to come through the wall...
HAHA. My older washer did that when the load was slightly uneven.
But my Speed Queen has a counter-balance mechanism that works perfectly; it never bumps regardless of how uneven the clothes are.

My washing machine will stop and emit a beeping alarm if the load is not properly balanced in the machine.
