The lot is a pie-shaped 0.34 acre minus what the house, deck, driveway and a miniscule tool shed occupy. This is an aerial view.@debodun How big is your yard?

I lived in town for a few years and had a rotary mower like that for my lawn. I always liked it, a bit of work but as long as you didn't let the grass get high it worked well. After looking at gas, electric corded and electric battery mowers, the one that's starting to look good is this one:

Don't care what they say. If you have the funds, find the lawn care person you feel good about and pay them for doing the job. When I say I pay $65 every other week to people, they say either, "What a bargain." or, "Highway robbery." Who ya gonna believe?
That's typical. I can tend to overlook before I buy. Sometimes you just have to pick one.Every Web site that does ratings recommends a different lawn mower as being the best.![]()
you have the best reviews right here, among all of us who use various types of mower. ..so just stick with whatever one we've suggested that suits you.. and you'll be fine..And even one that gets 5 stars on one site gets aon another. I guess it's like cars - one person get a lemon and gives a bad rap to all of that brand.
I have that hand held vac you suggested in my Amazon cart. I just haven't bought it yet. It is available here.you have the best reviews right here, among all of us who use various types of mower. ..so just stick with whatever one we've suggested that suits you.. and you'll be fine..I'm still suggesting the mower I've used for years and that's the push button start battery run rechargeable lighweight mower with collecting box... .
Agree and very well said. You get what you pay for or you do it yourself.Just pay. That's the problem. debodun doesn't want to pay a going rate to get the work done. Been There and others are willing to pay the money out for something they can't or don't want to do. I know not all may have the funds, but those who do can be glad they can pay someone.
I see lawn care people sometimes at my stepfather's mobile park.
Just in time for fall clean-up.We'll @debodun I say go for it if that's your max willingness to pay. You'll have that lawn done in 2-3 months.
Honda makes very good engines....But, their lawn mower "Smart Drive" self propelled system is a PITA, IMO. Last Summer, my neighbor had some minor surgery, so I mowed his yard a couple of times. He has a Honda mower, and the drive system consists of a "paddle" on the handle bar that you have to push with the thumbs to operate the drive. That is really had to try to maintain a proper walking pace. A Much better system is the "Personal Pace" system on my Toro mower....the harder you push the handle, the faster the mower goes....very easy to use.If you decide to buy a mower, buy a quality mower. If it's a gas mower, I prefer one with a Honda engine. Electric I don't have any experience with. Buy once, cry once.
This is what I've been saying all along. I have a cordless battery mower, it's very lightweight, ideal for older people .. it has 6 cutting heights.. I've had it for a good many years and never once had to have the blades sharpened , but it can be done easily even by us mere wimmin.. by just following YT video..If you go the route of buying a mower, your main decision is:
Go cordless battery powered . Cordless battery is the future of ALL yard maintenance equipment & going electric eliminates all maintenance issues except sharpening of the mower blades which you can do yourself using a metal file.
