The Center for Constitutional Rights has filed a lawsuit against U.S. President Joe Biden, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, and U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin for failure to prevent, and complicity in, genocide.
A U.S. nonprofit has taken legal action against the Biden administration over support for Israel’s deadly assault on Gaza.

On Monday the Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR) filed a lawsuit in Northern District of California against U.S. President Joe Biden, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, and U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin for failure to prevent genocide and complicity in genocide.

Plaintiffs include the human rights groups Defense for Children International–Palestine (DCIP) and Al-Haq, Great March of Return founder Ahmed Abu Artema, founder of the 2018 Great March of Return, Nasser Medical Complex physician Dr. Omar Al-Najjar, and DCIP field researcher Mohammed Ahmed Abu Rokbeh.

Lawsuit targets Biden administration over complicity in Gaza genocide.

The lawsuit filed by the Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR) against the Biden administration could potentially have significant implications for US-Israel relations123. Here are a few key points to consider:
  1. US Support for Israel: The lawsuit highlights the role of the US as Israel’s closest ally and its largest military aid provider since World War II3. This could bring increased scrutiny to the US’s financial and military support for Israel1.
  2. Legal Precedent: The lawsuit argues that the Biden administration is liable under US law for failing to uphold its obligation to prevent genocide in Gaza1. If the court rules in favor of the plaintiffs, it could set a legal precedent impacting future US foreign policy decisions4.
  3. Public Opinion: The lawsuit and the publicity surrounding it could influence public opinion in the US and globally, potentially leading to increased pressure on the US government to change its policies towards Israel2.
  4. Diplomatic Relations: Depending on the outcome of the lawsuit and the response of the US government, there could be diplomatic repercussions. The US government’s stance on the lawsuit could either strain or strengthen its relations with Israel3.
Please note that these are potential impacts and the actual effects will depend on various factors, including the outcome of the lawsuit and the responses from the US and Israeli governments123. It’s also important to remember that the situation is complex and rapidly evolving2.

Nothing will come of it. It's shameful, but for political reasons, those in power don't care. Just another example that life only matters for embryo's in the womb, other than that, kill away.

I believe the US Government should do something already. Israel already got even 10 times over. Gaza is nothing but ruble now. Our government needs to do more to help the people of Gaza. These people matter too!💗

Israel's goal the whole time was the total destruction of Palestine. From day one. They won't stop until it's gone and they can control it all. When this was said at the start we were called kooks and haters for saying so. Now look where we are and the direction of travel. This really should have been obvious to everyone.

I am aware that Israel s goal is to destroy Hamas but I also think it's costing too much collateral damage as they say.

I'm no attorney, but neither Hamas nor Israel are agents of the US, despite whatever assistance the US has given. That means Israel/Hamas are free agents to do what they desire. This is a conflict by Arabs and Israelis over the same swatch of land, between two religions, and fueled by extremist, rabid religious leaders, and influenced by internationally self interested nations.
