Leap Day/WastedDay
We have an extra day, given to me andyou...
Kicking around the house, not sure ofwhat to do,
Could go shopping if I had a littlecash,
Could clean up the basement, toss outall the trash...
Should visit a friend, who isn’t feelingvery well,
Might curl up with a book... that soundsactually swell...
I could catch up the things that needattention dear,
But I excel in procrastination that isvery clear...
Oh what shall I do when given anextra day?
I’m sure when said and done there’llbe no extra pay...
Might clean out the closet,straighten out that draw,
I have extra time, twenty four hoursextra more...
I wanted to accomplish something; wantedto make a change,
Instead I do so little not even thesock drawer did I rearrange...
February twenty ninth, the day theycall leap year,
And when that day closed out, I’vewasted it I fear.
