Leap year

2020 is a leap year, which means that it has 366 days instead of the usual 365 days that an ordinary year has. The extra day is added to the month of February - and February 29th is the traditional day that women propose to men.

Did you, or do you know any ladies took who advantage of this age old tradition ?

Arrh yes, 29th February. You wouldn't believe it, but on many a leap year, I've stood in the middle of the pavement in town centers with a sign hanging round my neck saying, "Ladies, I'm free if you want me." For some unknown reason, when any lady approached me and saw the sign, they suddenly crossed over to the other side of the road, some almost getting run over by buses. I'll never understand women.....😊

That was my intent today, after reading your post I'm having second thoughts. Like you, I have made me a 'cute' sign; now I'm sad,
don't like to be ignored, will stay in my cave.
What's wrong with women? I've been without a woman for a spell,
now I'm thinking, 'what's right about women.'

My longtime friend and my children`s babysitter lived behind us. Her grandma lived with her and her parents-always had, since she retired. Grandma 'Bobs" was a Leap Year baby. Today my friend Sara posted this on FB....
"Today would have been my Grandmother's 29th birthday (116). Pina Fletcher was a Leap Year baby, one of her proudest personal facts! Bobs was my greatest champion and probably the person with biggest influence on my life. She has been gone 24 years this past December but a day doesn't go by that I don't think of her!"

Bobs had a pretty cool career-she was a chef for Southern Pacific Railroad. She cooked meals for the passengers on cross country trips. I always thought that sounded like an interesting job.
