First day back went well. I was exhausted and slept like a log until a bird hit the window this morning and woke me up.
Had to contact FMLA since they never reopened my claim and had to reopen the one from November and put the claim there. The gal moved all the paperwork to that claim so hopefully they'll get it straightened out. Good grief! Supposedly the paperwork was filled out on the 11th and the 24th. I have no clue what's up with that.
ER was busy last night and pretty dirty so I did my best. By 9:30 I was starting to lose steam. I got the unit done and had to get the last linen cart filled for in the morning. By the time I got done with that I was dragging butt. I got home and fixed a quick dinner, did a few dishes and fell asleep watching Hot in Cleveland.
They took me off checkouts thank God. It's harder for me to go in and strip the rooms of all the trash, laundry and equipment, clean it and put them together again, than it is for me to do the unit. So I am thankful for that.
We acquired a new employee that is a girl that identifies as a boy but uses the girls locker room because they haven't had surgery yet. I am not comfortable with that at all. But we have no choice. He can't hear either so you have to be looking at him so he can read your lips. I find this new world we live in unsettling and the things they ask us to accept unsettling. I'm trying to be good about it though.
The boss wasn't there yesterday so I don't know if I'm gonna get called into the office today or not. We'll see. Our lead got wrote up because one of the housekeepers didn't clean a room in the behavioral unit. She doesn't like it up there so she just refuses to clean those rooms. She didn't get in any trouble though. I really don't understand the disfunction in our dept. It's terrible!

Morning everyone.
I got my groceries delivered just now without incident. Got the cold items put away. Since it's payday tomorrow I ordered pizza from Papa John's. They have a deal where if you pair a pizza and something else the items are 6.99 so I have a beef and black olive pizza, some garlic knots with cheese dip and a 2 liter of Mug rootbeer coming. Tonight I'll cook up macaroni and cheese and the rest of my raw carrots. Might take them for lunch at work tomorrow.
I hafta take the trash to the bin today but other than that, nothing but rest on the agenda. I gave up on the magic shop game because it doesn't want to register the touch when you tap on stuff sometimes and the pie thing wasn't going well either. It was just frustrating me so I went back to my Vita color app.
Tried to call the pharmacy at work just now to refill an Rx of mine and it wouldn't go through. I wonder if they're having issues with their phone line? Oh well. I just called the hospital and had them transfer it. The pizza place must be busy. I've been waiting a little while.

I'm glad I was off today. I just saw an article on FB of an announcement from our hospital.
Apparently an 87 yo man walked into our ER and checked in as a patient and then pulled out a gun and shot himself. No other patients or staff were in the lobby at the time. They did life saving procedures on him but he passed away.
They are seeing patients in a different area of the hospital today while police investigate. I have no idea what I am walking into tomorrow when I go to work. It's just awful. No other visitors, patients or staff were harmed.

Yes I worked today. I clean the emergency dept at our hospital. It was good to not need the oxygen.

I slept good last night. I was gonna take my lunch again but I think I'll just eat at work tonight. I have 3 areas at work that need some attention today in case they do EOC rounding. I was out for 3 weeks total I think. The people that covered my area did the bare minimum so I'm trying to get caught up on the cleaning. There was horrid amounts of dust on everything and some areas didn't get mopped.
It takes me a bit to get caught up when the others don't clean like they're supposed to. Plus I'm having to clean the beds as I go cuz they don't bother to clean the bottoms of the beds and there's dust, dirt and blood all over them. Yet they never get wrote up. Just me. I hate it. It's not fair at all. But I'm finding out our new boss is not fair.

So she left a room uncleaned one night and the lead/charge got wrote up for it and the gal that did it didn't get into any trouble for it. I don't get how they can legally get away with that. That place is definitely a lot of work, and sadly, often not fair. Those beds need thorough cleaning.

Yes unfortunately I work with some lazy folks. I just do the best I can. They don't even try to clean the blood and other various things off the walls. I don't know how they don't get into trouble for it but ya know. *Shrugs* I did get told by folks in ER they missed me this time. LOL
I ended up having chicken crispitos and some oreos for supper at work. Nothing eventful happened. I kept busy though. I'm supposed to get my new phone case tomorrow. My Otterbox broke. There's plastic on the sides and a piece of it cracked and broke. Those things aren't cheap either. Well, mine wasn't cuz it was from the Verizon store. *wrinkles nose*

Waiting on my new phone case to arrive. Did a few dishes and have a few more to do. Gotta clean my sinuses and take a shower. Fun stuff. Probably gonna play some Stardew Valley today. The trash truck hasn't come yet to my knowlege. They should be here soon.
This morning around 3 AM I think someone blew off firecracker outside my apt.
I hate that they do that crap. They're lucky I'm not like granny on Beverly Hillbillies or they'd be pickin 22 calibers outta their aholes. LOL! People are just so rude these days.
I haven't seen anymore information about the man who killed himself in our ER. I've been looking at the obits and waiting for any updates. Since it was a suicide they may not put anymore info in the paper. I'm surprised we got the story that we did but since it was in our facility the CEO had to make a statement.
We seem to have pretty resilient staff so I think everyone was ok. I'm not sure about the staff that was on duty in the registration and triage when it took place. I've not heard anything. It was my understanding he had this planned. I'm guessing he didn't wanna do it at home with the family and he figured if he did it there we'd clean him up. I hope others don't get that same stupid idea.

Ugh! I went to the basement today to fish a few books out for a coworker that likes to read. I am not reading them so if I can get rid of them then whatever. I thought the house smelled funny and when I got to the basement I discovered why. Dead mouse. How he got in I'll never know.

I can't wait til the weekend. I'll be off then. I guess KDHE was at the hospital investigating the shooting and they had 8 strokes in a row. One was the worst case senario and they had KDHE breathing down their necks.

One of the posts talked about ghosting. We have a young man working with us who recently got locked out of his home by his wife. He was homeless for a little bit and one weekend I found out he had no money and no food.
So one of our other coworkers brought him by and I gave him a little bit of cash and enough food for a couple days and he stayed in the sleep house at work. One day last week I was just asking him some questions to see how he was getting along cuz he had told me all his problems with the wife.
He suddenly gets all offended and gets a little sh*tty with me and next thing I know he blocks me on Facebook. It hurt my feelings enough I decided I'm not gonna bother with trying to make anymore friends. Mainly cuz I always get the sh*t end of the stick.
Found out the supervisor I like is retiring sooner than she said she was cuz of all the stress at work. I don't blame her. Things have gotten worse lately. I wish I didn't hafta wait another year to transfer out. Hopefully something will open up by then for me.
