Learning How To Live Life

OMG! I just wanted a pbj sandwich before work and now my hands hurt like hell from trying to get this opened!

I'd rather pay for brand name for the lids I can pop open with a spoon as opposed to trying to open another one of these. These are not good with any kind of hand pain. Anyone know of a good jar opener that is adjustable?

I get the same miserable hand pain from lots like that. 😱
I have an opener that sometimes works, but not always. 😒

That handle slides to fit any size.
Easier to grip than the lid by itself, but sometimes it still hurts and sometimes i still can't get them open.
Does work sometimes though.

Morning friends.
Breathing treatment is done. Coffee is in progress. Grocery order is being prepared.

I'm not usually awake so early on a Monday so I saw a different trash truck go by with the arm that picks up the trolly and dumps the trash. Normally I have the regular truck. So I thought they weren't picking mine up. So I called the place and asked about it. I guess they've done some restructuring of their map and the routes so now there's one that comes with the arm and the regular truck which will be by later for my alley pickup. But there for a hot minute I was thinking to myself "why didn't they notify us that the trucks were changing?"

Went through my contacts on my phone and got rid of some contacts I no longer need or ones I never hear from. I wish my apt was as tidy and organized as my phone and my computer bookmarks are now. LOL!

I got that game I was talking about yesterday that's set in India. I plan to start that today. We'll see though. I may end up napping.

Well, I'm gonna go wash some dishes and get some toast into me. Might watch some tv. Unless I decide to open one of the black and white movie sites on the laptop. BBL

I actually bought 2 games last night as they were on sale. One is called Cinders which is a text and graphics based game where your responses make the path of the game.

The other is the palace on the hill that is based in India with Indian culture and life.
Will start that in a few minutes.

Try using the tip of a butter knife or a flat head screw driver just under the bottom of the lid & gently pry it open a little until you hear the air escape or a pop sound. If it's a stubborn lid, I'll do that & then move the opener over a little & pry again until I hear the air the the lid makes a pop sounds. Sometimes it will take more than one or two tries if it's on tight.

That's on a regular jar. The lid on that one I'm talking about is designed like a canning lid but the lid is screwed down so hard I had to pry it off with my putty knife.

I thought it was a regular lid, didn't catch that it was plastic. I have an opener like this green one that has worked for me that was in the canning jar section. The other one looks like one that is used for getting off oil filters from cars used for jars. I haven't used one for jars, but it sure looks like it would help. That one looks like it may give your more leverage.

I need to get an electric can opener too. I'm looking at jar openers.

So I use these things to help with my sinuses in between doses of the nasal spray.

Tonight when I used it a piece of the wick broke off and went into my nose and down the back of my throat. Burned so bad I almost had a COPD attack. I don't think I'll be using these anymore.

Might go to bed early. I'm exhausted.

morning friends.
did my breathing meds and my tens therapy. read the local free newspaper. it amazes me that i get any sleep at all considering the pain i'm in and the fact that my sinuses are driving me crazy.

started watching rooster last night. can't remember which streaming service it was on. it was ok. will see how the next episode goes.

the landlord showed the apt yesterday to a young couple. no clue whether it's rented out or not.

i gotta work the next 4 days then i will have the weekend off again. it's gonna be rough.

Oh gosh, that's awful! :(

I mean how awful that was that happened to you.

But also, that type of twist container is very impossible, I've found too.

@Lilac
Both of those look worth trying, to me.
Thanks for posting them.

I tried to get an electric opener, due to my motor an hand problems, but the ones i tried left sharp edges, and even little metal filing parts, IN the food of meds.....:oops:

So I had to go back to struggling with whatever manual ones I could find.:(

i've never in all the years i've used that stuff ever had a piece of the wick break off and end up in my nose.

That does sound rough.

I guess it's as you'd told me......
We'll get by, one day at a time.

i'm ordering a cuisanart. it had an all 5 star rating. for something like this it will be worth the money if it works good.

i found a jar opener that i can put in under the upper cabinet in the kitchen. it's stainless steel and will open jars as small as say a steak sauce jar. plastic or metal lids.

I have had those types of wicks break, in more than one places, that not want to come off...
but it snapped right at you.😖😣😭
