I did find a recipe for a Greek meatloaf. It's simple & I make it the night before so it can sit & the flavors can blend. Then I slice is thinly & brown it in the skillet. It freezes well so we can some later. Aldis has good tzatziki sauce & I buy their Naan bread to go with it.

Morning. Having my coffee and playing around online. We are in for some very cold weather. Not looking forward to that. Local news out of Wichita says 6-8 inches but Accuweather says 1-3 for where I am. Not sure what to believe. It's a game of wait and see as it always is in KS.

They suggested on the news to put a new filter in the furnace so it's not working overtime so I just went down and did that. It was time. I had plans to clean today but I think I will have to keep that for my weekends off. I need to rest today.

I got my ethernet extension cable coming and I think I will need a 2.1 HDMI cable for the tv for gaming. Will order that next time. I have groceries coming today rather than waiting til Monday just in case. Hopefully they can get everything I need. If not I will make do. I just don't want the power to go out and lose all my food in the fridge/freezer.

I will hafta let the water dribble from the faucet for several days til it warms up again. Don't want the pipes to freeze and burst.

I will probably play my cozy games today. I will turn Fortnite on long enough to get the update and see what's happening.

@Lilac I saw an ad for another new Taylor Sheridan series. It's a spin off of Yellowstone. Possibly moving ahead to the future of Beth and Rip? That Sheridan is something else. I wonder what his wife does with herself all day? Besides shop. LOL
 
well i may or may not have a ride to work tomorrow. i may hafta see about getting an uber and if i can't then i'll hafta call ahead to work and see if they have someone with a 4x4 that can come get me and i may hafta sleep over for a couple days. we still have a sleep room on our floor. idk what else to do.

i hate bad weather. we're now expecting 5-9 inches of snow supposedly. :rolleyes:
 
@MarciKS, I seen the ad for that too. I can't wait for it to come out. Out of the two spinoffs for Yellowstone, this is the one I'm looking forward to most.

I was reading about his wife who is also into horses, so I think she probably spends her day with them except she doesn't have to clean the stalls like I do, LOL.

Did you watch the season finale for Landman?

yes. i was very surprised that his ex didn't go off on cami. she's like a wild horse. glad that rapist died. glad cooper got off but in the real world that never would happen. i hope he hasn't made a deal with the devil with the drug lord.

I hope the power doesn't go but if it does I have some bins with covers. I can put food from the freezer or fridge in these and put them outside. (maybe with a weight on top to discourage animals) It is cold enough.
 
I couldn't believe how everything was wrapped up (at least pretty much). With the rapist on tape what he was doing & then picking up that brick & hitting her in the head, I believe he wouldn't have gotten off finding her in the process of being beat up like that. She had "great" bruising the next day that no one could dispute that he hadn't beaten the $hit out of that night. Also, it was hinted that he had "friends" in the oil business, but then they didn't know it was Tommy's boy either. Not sure if we will hear more about that or not.

Cami isn't going to know what happened to her when she finds out they all left her & went on their own. I think it serves her right trying to be the business woman when she knows nothing about it. When Nate told her that Monty hadn't intended for the company to go on after him let alone be a "tribute to his memory" with her running it, but meant for it to be sold & the money was to be for her & the two girls. It will be interesting to find out how it will play out next season. I hate waiting that long, LOL.
 
i started a game called blue prince on xbox game pass. i'm playing it on the cloud (internet cloud). it's a house that's basically a puzzle. the object is to find the 46th room. every day you come in and enter rooms to look for stuff to find more rooms. i played for quite a bit today.

I think we are pretty much ready for the weather. The battery in our Bobcat front end loader died & we have a guy coming out tomorrow to replace it. This is what we use to plow snow & do chores around the barn/property.

The news guy wouldn't give a straight answer about the snow, anywhere from 2" to 100":eek:. He did say he didn't "think" we would get the ice. Wow, I wish I could do that & have kept my job.

Weatherbug. com seems to be better than anyone for a forecast. Friday 14/2, Sat 9/9, Sun 16/9, Mon 19/-2 & not much better the rest of the week. I'm hoping that this will help get rid of the bugs & it will be a better summeršŸ¤ž.

yeah idk for sure what we're in for. sometimes they forecast stuff here and we don't get it. so it's anybody's guess. all i can do is look out and see what's out the front door in the morning. if we get the 8 inches expected i have stuff in my back pack to take with me so i can stay over if need be. i'll have access to food and drinks and a shower so it's all good. i would rather be home.

my birthday is monday and i don't wanna be stuck at work.
 
I used to keep things in my car trunk in case I had to stay over at work too. It didn't happen, but if I hadn't it would have. I used to keep canned food in my locker that I could heat up in the microwave for bad weather when we couldn't get out to pick up food. My co-workers used to make fun of me, but I had the last laugh šŸ˜. Back then there was no delivery service & the only pizza place that did deliver would close down when it was bad.

fortunately i can use the vending machines and the other things we call truck stops. they're like a convenience store in the hallway. i don't like using them but i won't be without food. i'll have power and my phone so i'll be ok. i think there's a tv in that room too. i have my earplugs so nobody bothers me sleeping and i'm bringing my sleep medicine. lol! hopefully i won't need it but i'd rather not chance it. once it snows that deep it's hard to get down my street without a 4x4.

For those of you who posted nice comments on my other diary after I left, I appreciate it. Thank you. I've missed some of you.

I just got out of the hospital yesterday afternoon. I've been in the hospital twice now since last November. First time was with pnuemonia/respiratory failure. This time I had a bacterial infection/respiratory failure. Good fun. LOL! I'm home resting and will return to work Tuesday with a little more wear and tear.

They finally got us a new pulmonologist and he's stated he would like to see me get a job that's less physically demanding. So, if things go well, I plan to look for a desk job starting in 2026. I think it's time to hang up my hard working shoes for something a little less tiring. I don't want to but, my body isn't going to put up with much more.

I've had no car for couple years now I think. I'm getting to know the Uber drivers pretty good. *Giggles*

After mom's funeral in 2021 my brother and his wife quit talking to me along with some of the other family members. Father and I tried to build a relationship but it just didn't work out. He was being abusive again and I decided it was no longer a fruitful venture. So, I made the painful decision to go no contact. It was what was best for me. I am finally starting to heal and live life.

I have information on several jobs I could get that don't require degrees or experience. Ones I'd probably enjoy. I have no issues with working at a computer all day. I'm on mine all the time at home.

I hope every one is doing well. And I hope we can start again.

I am in similar a situation as far as family contact is concerned. After my mom passed 3 years ago. I have no immediate family left. I cut tie with my uncle and cousins because they are not good people. I am an introvert, and somewhat difficult to get along with, so I donā€™t really have close friends. That's life. At my age, I just let it go now.

Unfortunately yes. An hour and a half earlier than predicted. Pretty sure the kid that agreed to drive me isn't gonna come get me. I'll likely hafta call Uber. I am packed and prepared to spend the weekend in the sleep room at work. We have 2 in our dept. One is full of carts but I can make room for me. Hopefully nobody will use the other one but, you never know. I'll try to get my regular ride to take me home Sunday night. It depends on how bad the snow is.

Really don't wanna spend my birthday in a sleep room at work. But we'll see. I'll talk to my usual weekend ride before I make any decisions. He has a jeep and usually doesn't have trouble getting around. They don't usually plow much here so, I'll hafta see what he thinks.

I played Fortnite with my friends last night. Had a good time. I need to start playing more solo games to practice. Playing with 5 man teams is pretty chaotic. One team is getting shot at by 2 or 3 others and it's kinda hard to stay alive. LOL!

I have my phone so I will at least be able to still chat while I'm hunkered down at work.
 
it is 4F/-15C and the windchill is -22F/-30C here right now. and some gal was walking in it not dressed nearly warm enough to keep from getting frostbite. they said on the news that can happen in 10-30 minutes in weather like this.
 
Good news is my ethernet extension cable came just a couple minutes ago. I was worried it wouldn't come before I left and would be stolen or buried in snow and ruined. Thank goodness. I prayed about it last night. God is a good listener. *Grins*
