Me too. My mother taught me to respect and trust a policeman or woman and I have always found them to be very helpful.

I spent 2 yrs as a 911 dispatcher before I joined the rank and file of my Department where I spent 33 years serving in a number of various assignments across this Province.

During my tenure I also had the privilege and honor of providing assistance and escorts to our fallen troops when they were repatriated from Afghanistan.

The sacrifices made by these men and women and all serving members of our Military is unparalleled by anything that I ever did.

Thank you IKE.

I'll join in thanking all of our dedicated police officers who serve or have served and protected our communities.

Great post IKE. They have my upmost respect. I was just thinking the other day that a police officer never knows what might happen on a routine traffic stop. Might be a routine ticket given or something much worse.

When Patrol Officers would drop by or sit on one of our road projects, the traffic was always very nice and obliging. When we would get a late night callout for a fallen tree, or some other road hazard. They were always there to help us with traffic control, cleanup, or whatever else they could do. Honestly, I always thought of them as being Guardian Angles when they were with us on a job. Watching over me and the rest of the crew as we worked. Yes.. IKE, Great Post.

They put their lives on the line every day, and today being a LEO is more dangerous than ever. Thank you James and 911 for your service.

A BIG thank you to all LEO's and Military Veterans! Your selfless service to keep our world a better place is very much appreciated!

My brother is a Sergeant on the police force in the town we grew up in and my cousin is Police Chief in the town he grew up in. I get to hear some pretty crazy and sad stories first hand along with some funny and happy ones. It takes a special person to deal with that commotion day in and day out and still be able to go home and be a father and/or husband without it affecting them.
