Our late dear departed elder labradoodle , sleeping in his kennel away from the heat of the sun.. about a year before he passed..

And God asked the canine spirit
Are you ready to come home?
I believe so, replied the precious soul
My toys and bones can remain
As a reminder of love and dedication
Can you come then? asked God
Soon, replied the tail-wagging angel
But I must come slowly
For my human companions are troubled
For you see, I am their best friend
But don’t they understand? asked God
That you’ll never leave them?
That your souls are intertwined. For all eternity?
That nothing is created or destroyed?
It just is…forever and ever and ever
Eventually they will understand,
Replied the glorious dog
For I will whisper gently into their hearts
That I am always with them
I just am…forever and ever and ever

What a sweetheart. What happened that Sami died so young Mizmo (if you don't mind recalling it).

He had an aneurysm.
I had noticed that he did not want to play like he did before but I thought he was just being fussy.
He was about to eat morning brekkie when he screamed and his little body shot across the floor about two feet.
It was all over in 5 minutes or less. . I just petted him and soothed him til he went.
Then I cried on and off all day. My daughter took him to her Vet and took care of things for me.

That picture of Laddie is so cute. And Moe is a beautiful dog.
@OneEyedDiva

Laddie was a good dog. He grew very big and beautiful. Unfortunately, my Dad wouldn't spend the money
on a dog tag/license, so, the dog catcher caught him. I cried myself to sleep for a week. Not too long after,
I was playing on the sidewalk in front of our house, when suddenly there was Laddie, jumping on me and
licking my face. He then ran off. I followed him, but, he was too, and disappeared into someone's yard,
way up ahead of me. I was happy that someone gave him a home. Hopefully, he was licensed, and kept to
the sidewalks.

Moe was chosen from a young farmer's litter, at a now defunct place called The Stouffville Barns, outside
of Toronto. He was the only puppy with a blaze on his chest. I was holding up a yellow female, but Moe
won out. He pretty well potty trained himself. It was hard to let him go. Our good boy. He was 10.

That must've been so terrifying for you to witness. I can imagine the depth of your pain afterward. They are our babies after all. I'm so sorry for your loss!
