Lets see Clocks and timepieces Post your favourites here

John Harrison H1 clock of 1735.

Used by the Royal Navy and designed to maintain accurate timekeeping even in the challenging and harsh conditions of a sea voyage, by counteracting the motion of the ship. It made its inaugural voyage and underwent testing on the HMS Centurion in 1736.

Not likely to fit on your mantlepiece though.

Time Machine Kinetic Ball clock (video under 2 mins)

I actually co-owned one of these for a short time in the mid 1990s. The lady with whom I lthen lived was crazy about car boot sales (yard sales) and bought one of the clocks quite cheaply. It was all complete but not working. However she also happened to have a friend who was a clock repairer and he got it sorted for us. The sound of the ball bearings sliding along on the hour was surprisingly quite relaxing 🕰️
