Lighthearted, do you like or loathe your legs?

Brave man getting both done at once. I got my right knee replaced a couple years ago and liked it so much I asked the doctor if he’d do the other one. He objected that I didn’t need that one done. Reluctantly I had to agree when he showed me the X-rays of both knees. Both work fine now but I always use good knee pads when I’m crawling around picking weeds.
Thanks Mark, hearing the experiences of others helps to see the light at the end of the tunnel, LOL. Guess I need to invest in some good knee pads.

I don't know about the brave part, one of the reasons I did it this way was that I feared after doing one I would not want to go back for the second. Easier to jump off the cliff the first time...

Both of my knees were equally bad, that made a difference. The biggest disadvantage I can see to doing both is that having one good leg would help me get around better. I am a little short of 2 months right now and am still a bit unsteady walking long distances or on rough ground, I suspect with only one leg I would not feel that way. It would probably make standing up from a chair a little easier as well.

I am very happy not having to worry about going through the recovery and rehab twice!

Well, my legs aren't exactly "beautiful". The knees look like I stole them from a bony giant. Myfeet are large- shoe size 13 Xtra wide. I could get a job stomping on grapes-no problem at all. The muscles are still good after 76 years, but the nerves are shot. So they don't work so good. But they've been around for a while, and I've gotten used to them. I'll keep 'em.

Legs are quite clever things, and not many people know this, but they can read our minds.

Think about it, you swing your legs out of bed each morning and right away, they know that you want to trot to the bathroom, and, they talk leggy stuff to each other too, like "Who's turn it is to go first", and, when another part of your body wants to pee, they instinctively know how to do that little dance to help you not to pee down onto them.

Yeh, clever thing are legs. 😊

My husband would differ with you Timoc
He says his legs are on the wrong body as they don’t do what they are told !!!!
Lol

My aunt had painful varicose veins. Periodically, she had them stripped. I don’t know if that would be helpful to you.
Procedures for varicose veins are fine - only if the condition is painful enough to justify the risk - both the risk of the surgery and the risk of the procedure causing more pain & other problems. When the bad veins are stripped/lasered/burned away/etc. the blood is routed through other veins, causing them extra stress. That's why the procedure has to be repeated. Mine are occasionally painful; not enough to have surgery.
When I first noticed my varicose veins 20 years ago, I looked into the various procedures. All the doctors I consulted just wanted to quick-sell me on whatever procedure they did. When I started to ask the important questions, they rushed the visit & left the room quickly. Of course that's their specialty - and their main source of income.

Do I like my legs?
Of course I do. My life wouldn’t be the same without them so I’m grateful for them. The get me from point A to point B.

Note: Did I somehow grown horns on my heads overnight or what?
