Live and let live

Every day, there are examples of the lunacy permeating society.

Case in point: The Art Institute of Chicago fires all its docents (volunteers who guide tours) because they are mostly affluent, white, older women. Although they aren't paid, it's apparently "racist" to have them talking about art.

Somebody thought this was a good idea, and that's the scary part.

Debt isn't a bad thing so long as you have the ability to pay for it. What the deficit will be is something that bears watching. At my age I don't think any of what is being done or not done will affect me. But looking into the future I don't feel confident that America will stay as the world leader.

A $30 trillion debt is scary, as is a $2.7 trillion deficit. But what the heck, it's only money.

I look at debt like buying an car on credit. No problem if you pay the it off, but if you default you can lose the car. The deficit @$2.7 trillion is going to increase so if our creditors decide to call in the debt were screwed.

In the US, the left is getting more "left" and the right is getting more "right." There are fewer and fewer people like me in the middle.

The left is jamming idiotic theories down our throats. Men bearing children? Really? "Whiteness" as a disease? Asking for voter ID is racist? (When EVERY European country insists upon voter ID). Nothing wrong with 200,000 people walking across the border every month, either.

Meanwhile the right continues to adore you-know-who and to pursue crazy Texas-type culture crusades. And yammer on about vaccines and freedom. And deny climate change.

Both sides ignore the $30 trillion national debt, which is like a tumor that will someday kill us.

We are heading for big trouble, and it may be sooner rather than later.
I'm middle of the road too. Most people are but are forced into "polarized positions" by lack of choice as there are no middle of the road leaders anymore. It's my way or the highway repels many. I'll stay middle of the road. Can't do otherwise.
