Living alone, do you hear that noise @ 3 AM?

If you live alone, do you always hear that damn noise again @ 3AM? I hear it only early, early in the morning. But getting up to go- there it is.
What is it?
And why do you hear noises only real late at night?

I sleep with my air cleaner running which has a fan that I can set on whatever speed I want so I don’t hear anything.

I certainly heard it last night around 3am..damn foxes battling with something in my garden... if my back hadn't been hurting so much I would have got out of bed and opened the window to chase them off..

I think the 3am noises are just the house creaking back into place as heat cools down etc..

nobody is around, i wish that would stop so I could get better

I cant hear anything. Thats why I have a security system. This old house is built like a bomb shelter.
All the walls are a foot thick solid brick. Between the rooms too not just outside.

Now before the husband passed away there were many 3 am calls.
I was so used to them that after he passed away I would wake up and swear I heard him calling me.

In The Amityville Horror, the camera would zoom in on the bedroom clock at 2:59. Then it would hit 3 AM, then paranormal activities would start.

I hear various noises through the night. I'm a very light sleeper. I can be dead asleep and the tiniest noise can bolt me awake. If it sounds too suspicious I go check it out. I take my hammer or my meat tenderizer with me.
