I did 18 in Oregon in Eagle creek. Two days up to Wathum Lake, one day down. Last time I ever willingly went on a long hike/camping trip.I did 25 miles in the mountains of Colorado when I was a Boy Scout...does that count?
That was my very first thought on seeing the picture! By the way, I love the orange kitty picture!I don't think I'd be keen to walk through the Middle East on foot.
That would make a great Fitbit Adventure!
And the end point is a very chilly port city in NE Russia. It's where the soviet gov't used to ship its political prisoners before sending them along to one of their gulags.I don't think I'd be keen to walk through the Middle East on foot.
Thank you for your service! You put it all on the line for us. God Bless... and you do win the prize for the 'walks' you took...!Walked alot... Does one get extra points for the type of terrain? Just wondering.

Bella, this is excellent. My longest walk in one day was much less with 24 miles at age 37.My longest walk was 36 miles in one day. In high school, I helped organize "Hike for Hunger". The first "hike," I walked 24 miles, the second "hike," I walked 36 miles.![]()
Murrmurr, this is quite interesting, as I just began to read Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn's book "The Gulag Archipelago". Magadan is a sister city with Anchorage, but I doubt that there are a lot of activities in this field now.And the end point is a very chilly port city in NE Russia.
