I like brogues. I always keep my shoes highly polished. Good navy training. Although, to be fair I mainly wear runners nowadays. Sneakers? As for the two tone coloured shoes shown earlier in this thread, they really are excellent. If only I went somewhere worthwhile to wear them. But as someone said, they must be very difficult to polish.

I was in New York City years ago, when shoe shine stands were a lot more common. A very young guy, or younger than us anyway, said to my friend, who happened to be wearing rather scuffed shoes, 'Hey man, you wanna be neat? Look at your feet!'

When it came to selling a service, I thought that was pretty good.

Ted, with 2 tone coloured shoes , to make it easier to polish them I just use clear polish...

as an ex military,i used to polish every day,these days i wear slip ons,when they look naff,i ditch them and get another pair,gone are the days of expensive leather shoes.

Mine say comfort and good support....I tend to go sideways with my heals, so a shoe person suggested a sturdy heal. I always get velcro as it is just easier for me
