Looking back I was pretty good looking

Whenever my photo was taken in the past years and years ago, I thought, oh, I wish I was taller, blonde, having the perfect face, kind of like a Farrah Fawcett or Heather Locklear, etc. But when I look at my photos from years ago, I say to myself now, hey, I was pretty cute! I wish I appreciated how I looked at the time and then would not have felt not good enough in the looks department. Did any of you feel that way looking at old photos of yourself?

Definitely. I saw only my faults. Fortunately my husband saw something else.

I actually looked pretty dorky when young, and people from my gene pool don’t look halfway decent until they’ve gotten a few years on them. My father looked good in his 60’s, with almost a boyish quality. I still have dark hair thanks to a recessive gene from my mother. I’ve noted that some people who look stunning in their youth don’t seem to maintain their looks in later life…

(Myself in youth. The tail, other kids pulled on my tail, and made fun of my ears. Kids can be so cruel…it’s hard to be different!)
