Looking for a feel-good tv show

I'm always looking for feel-good shows to watch while I eat dinner or wind down before bed.

There's a bunch of ways to go.

There are the Hallmark type tv shows like Heartland.
There are the comedies like Monk or Psych or Seinfeld or Cheers .
There are long running shows like Grey's Anatomy.
There are the nature shows like David Attenborough's A Life On Our Planet.
There are even meditation shows on Netflix from Headspace.

When you're looking for a tv show that makes you feel a bit better after you watch it, what do you turn to?

Star Trek, the original series. It’s a show I’ve watched since picking up a tv station on the UHF loop antenna when I was 9. Sometimes it feels good to have something familiar in the background as you’re doing stuff around the house.

The most relaxing TV I have watched. :)

It seems like the best for me are shows that have excellent character relationships. In that case the actual plot is not entirely consequential. A few examples - Blue Bloods, NCIS, The Rookie, and Bones.

30 Rock. It's not a warm, fuzzy show, but it will make you laugh.
Little House on the Prairie - oh that such places and people still existed.
60 Minute Makeover - from the UK, it's no longer on the air in my area. 😥. But darn, the later episodes show people getting home makeovers and they are usually deserving in some way.
Frasier - I like this show, even though the lead is yet another narcissist, because the dad is usually trying to tell his sons how and why they have screwed up their lives and they just don't listen! It's actually a rare occurrence to have a regular, older character on a sitcom be something more than a clown, buffoon, or That Parent We Are Trying to Heal From in a Comedic Way. He is a full, three-dimensional older person. Very rare to have those in sitcoms. Very rare.
Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman - REALLY corny, no one in the harsh West was ever as gorgeous with dust-free and sweat-free faces as those two leads, but I still sometimes get drawn into the hope of that show.

Cheers - narcissists as leads.
Seinfeld - more narcissists as leads.
- Those can be funny, but they don't make me feel hopeful about life. They are both far more likely to remind me of some unpleasant people I have met.

Abbot Elementary (ABC and Hulu) and just about anything on HGTV. Have only seen one episode but so far like Elsbeth (CBS).
I'm looking forward to seeing Elsbeth. I hope it has good writers and can find an audience. I always liked that character and God help America, Elsbeth is older than age 40! Shocking - shocking for such an "old woman" to be a lead in a TV show.

Right now I'm loving Abbott Elementary and even though the subject matter can be heavy...Will Trent. Truthfully, any of my favorite shows help me relax. I finished an episode of The Rookie yesterday. Cop drama laced with just the right amount of humor.

I alsoy love watching beachfront, waterfront home buying shows plus I've gotten back into Open House (on Peacock) that shows fabulous homes, many of which were on the market when the shows aired. These homes and apartments sell for millions of dollars. For most of them, I love seeing the designs and decor. Of course, many of them have water views too.

British lightweight crime dramas.
Sister Boniface,...she is a hoot on that motor bike , Father Brown reruns, Shakespeare and Hathaway.
Easily solved crimes with some chuckles.

Otherwise I like The Law and Order series and the New one, Law and Order Toronto looks promising after first episode.

I watch TV shows from the sixties and seventies because feel good tv shows are not made anymore. I think. Learning shows probably abound still, but sometimes I just want to laugh out loud. :D :)
I watch old tv shows also. They make me feel so good. For example, yesterday I watched several episodes of Golden Girls. I laughed so much and sometimes I was laughing until I cried. I enjoy those old shows.

Another CBC show. Corner Gas. It’s quite old now.
There is also "Corner Gas Animated" which allowed them to extend the original series and its characters and setting on a lower budget. It may have used a mix of scripts never shot for the live action series and some new material.
