I have an elderly friend that needs help picking things off of the floor. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Yes...those grabbers are wonderful...I couln't survive without them. Lately, there seems to be some extra heavy gravitational pull toward the floor, as most things I pick up end up there. It saves my poor back from extra wear and tear. They are great for reaching things up high, as well, if you are vertically challenged, as I am. I've got several posted around the house so they're always handy. The key is to buy a quality one, that grabs evenly and squeezes easiiy. I got mine at Home Depot.

SeaBreeze, thanks for posting the link to Dr. Leonard's catalogue.

Dr. Leonard's Catalog

You're welcome, we've even purchased two wheelchairs from the Dr. Leonard's catalog years ago. They were reasonably priced and good quality. Thanks for your report on that gopher grabber tool, I've seen them on TV, but never bought one. I may get one in the future, now that I know someone who's actually used it. ;)

My roomie has a knock-off version of the Gopher and finds it useful not just for picking stuff up from the floor but also for dealing with kitchen cabinets and such.

Me, I use it to pinch the critters' butts. :playful:
