Lost my Dad tonight

He had an appointment today in Indy with a specialist. I drove him and Mom over there and back. I let them out in our driveway at home, so I could put the truck in the garage (very tight fit). Went inside, Dad was on the floor unconscious, a big pool of blood under his face. He never regained consciousness, Not sure what hurt the worst, him being gone or seeing Mom beside herself in tears. She's a tough woman, they had 66 years together. My daughter tried CPR on him, we called EMTs but this time my Dad went home. We've cried ourselves out of tears tonight. Fly high, Dad. Love ya.
I'm so sorry! 🫂

Oh Spookycat2, what a dreadful shock for you and your family... the worst kind... to lose your precious father so suddenly.

You can only console yourself with the fact that you and he were together right up until the end...

Not only was the loss of my late Wife similar ( sudden ) We had been together for over 40 years. My daughter went through the experience also. She lost her Mother, I lost my Wife and it is/was the worst life experience I have ever had. I know the pain and my heart goes out to you and your Mother. I'm so sorry for your loss.

When I was little, my grandpa told me that our loved ones who have passed away turn into stars in the sky, watching over us and keeping us safe.

I’ve always believed that, and I believe your loved ones who have passed are like the family I lost, they live on in our hearts forever 🤗

I'm so sorry for you, your sister, and mother to have lost your father under such horrific circumstances. I'm at a loss for words. I hope with time, you and your family's hearts will heal, and your memories will turn from sadness and be overshadowed by the love he brought into your lives.

What can I say that others haven't already said? I'm so sorry for your loss. I feel for you and for your entire family.

My only advice is to take time to grieve. I also lost my father very unexpectedly and I would break down at the most unexpected times. I set up a little "shrine" to him with his college ring and a few more personal items and would spend time there. You aren't even at that point yet, but do keep it in mind. Again, I'm so sorry.

I second what @seadoug said. Your father's sudden passing has all of you in shock right now and you need time to grieve. Take care of each other; especially look after your mother. Even though she may tell you that she is OK, do not take her word for that. Your father would expect you to watch over her until she is no longer stricken with grief. This could take a year or more.
