Lost my Dad tonight

He had an appointment today in Indy with a specialist. I drove him and Mom over there and back. I let them out in our driveway at home, so I could put the truck in the garage (very tight fit). Went inside, Dad was on the floor unconscious, a big pool of blood under his face. He never regained consciousness, Not sure what hurt the worst, him being gone or seeing Mom beside herself in tears. She's a tough woman, they had 66 years together. My daughter tried CPR on him, we called EMTs but this time my Dad went home. We've cried ourselves out of tears tonight. Fly high, Dad. Love ya.
So sad, my sympathy to you, your mother and your family. May he rest peacefully having passed knowing he was among those who loved him for so many precious years. šŸ’œ

Thank you all so very much!! It really means so much to me!
Funeral was this morning.

If his passing wasn't enough that shook us up, a water nozzle that Dad had set up in the basement, that nobody turned on, was turned on and flooded part of our basement with water standing in the floor. A local company brought specialized fans that over a few days dried everything up. So I tried to sleep, and feed Spooky upstairs but she would have none of it. Stubborn Cat!!! So we've just chilled today. We had Army folks come and give their condolences for his service and played Taps. They did get him looking much better than the night he passed. We had a gas heater inside the tent, he was buried beside his cousins. So he had good company to go "Home" to. :)

I’m really glad you’re back. I’m so sorry to hear about your father’s passing, my deepest condolences.

Even though you’ve been through some really tough moments, things will slowly get better. Spooky will eventually start eating again.

Back where I’m from, we say that when someone passes, they become a star in the sky, watching over the people they love and care about.
