Good job especially over the holidays....I weigh myself the first Saturday of the month. Since last month, I've lost 2 pounds. Not much, but considering the holiday parties and food gifts I received and consumed, I was amazed.
I only need to lose 10 more, and my body has been on a plateau for months. Someone told me that maybe 150 is the ''right weight'' for me and that's why I can't lose anymore. I say that's BS and just an excuse to give up. If I still haven't lost even one pound in two weeks, I'll either have to eat less or exercise more (ugh!).
MY problem is I love and eat too much cheese and nuts. I'll TRY to cut down on the cheese and nuts, and that way save some money to make up for my ''deprivation''. Those two are expensive! There's the third option, of choosing one or a couple of the regular foods you like,
to either substitute something in for some of the times you use it (not necessarily every time; you might still use your old favorite when it's with your favorite time or use)
Or to switch one of your foods for something else instead, entirely, that you think is better for you.
That way , you don't have to eat less (or exercise more, LOL)
You could first try, eating something different, instead of less......
Very interesting Bonnie. I'm signing up for the baked mac and cheese diet, LOL.Then there is this .... eat the same food everyday and you will lose weight. ... out of boredom
Eating the same foods, day after day, may make you so uninterested in your meals that you start eating less, a new study suggests.
Women who ate macaroni and cheese every day for a week were taking in 100 fewer calories each day than normal by the week's end, the study showed.
The study "provides a very interesting new piece to the obesity puzzle by suggesting that meal monotony may actually lead to reduced calorie consumption," said Shelley McGuire, an associate professor of nutrition at Washington State University and a spokesperson for the American Society for Nutrition. "The trick will be balancing this concept with the importance of variety to good nutrition."
