Lost Weight

Good for you! I love when that happens, though I have to say that I am also frustrated if I don't know WHY. I mean, I'm very mindful about what I eat, and I know what my boundaries are for weight gain, and can usually predict if I'm going to gain and when I'm going to lose. So an unpredicted gain OR loss is always frustrating when I don't know what caused it!

I only need to lose 10 more, and my body has been on a plateau for months. Someone told me that maybe 150 is the ''right weight'' for me and that's why I can't lose anymore. I say that's BS and just an excuse to give up. If I still haven't lost even one pound in two weeks, I'll either have to eat less or exercise more (ugh!).

Getting on a plateau seems like my problem too. You get there and NOTHING works .. no amt. of exercise or anything. I understand that.

I did learn over the holidays that if you get really stressed out that you can lose a little weight. (I don't recommend it though)

There's the third option, of choosing one or a couple of the regular foods you like,
to either substitute something in for some of the times you use it (not necessarily every time; you might still use your old favorite when it's with your favorite time or use)
Or to switch one of your foods for something else instead, entirely, that you think is better for you.

That way , you don't have to eat less (or exercise more, LOL)
You could first try, eating something different, instead of less......

MY problem is I love and eat too much cheese and nuts. I'll TRY to cut down on the cheese and nuts, and that way save some money to make up for my ''deprivation''. Those two are expensive!

Then there is this .... eat the same food everyday and you will lose weight. ... out of boredom

Eating the same foods, day after day, may make you so uninterested in your meals that you start eating less, a new study suggests.
Women who ate macaroni and cheese every day for a week were taking in 100 fewer calories each day than normal by the week's end, the study showed.

The study "provides a very interesting new piece to the obesity puzzle by suggesting that meal monotony may actually lead to reduced calorie consumption," said Shelley McGuire, an associate professor of nutrition at Washington State University and a spokesperson for the American Society for Nutrition. "The trick will be balancing this concept with the importance of variety to good nutrition."

Very interesting Bonnie. I'm signing up for the baked mac and cheese diet, LOL.

How about people who eat the same thing for breakfast every single day? How do they stand it?

YEP, that's a good way to malnutrition. Nah, I'm going to try reducing (not eliminating) my consumption of cheese and nuts, they're very high calories AND expensive. Thanks @Kaila for the suggestion! I might break that stubborn plateau starting today.

That's right, it's possible to lower the amount we eat of a favorite regular food,
either by deciding certain days of the week for it, and not eat it on the others,
OR by having it only in your favorite combination/meal or setting, and not in the other times when you would not miss it as much.

Cheese and nuts are two that would be hard to sub for, but I would still try to do it. Choose something specific, such as chickpeas, or carrots or a fruit, to eat every time you want peanuts, but that it is not the time you planned for nuts.

Cheese is even harder to find a sub for. Don't choose ice cream to sub for the cheese! LOL
Possibly a different cheese might be found?

I forgot to mention to debodun,

that's good that you lost 2 pounds,
and even that you didn't gain instead, over the particular last month, especially.(y)
