Loud music while driving

I like it on i feel unsettled if there's no radio on when I'm driving, but I don't play it to entertain the rest of the town....
I prefer talk radio when I'm driving. I will listen to some music. Since the iconic station KGO Newstalk in San Francisco went away a few years ago, I listen to what I don't agree with because that's all there is. Still entertaining.

I agree with you on that super loud base music. It would kill my ears and brain. Wonder how their hearing will be a few years down the road? No pun intended.

It boggles my mind whenever I'm on my walks to hear the loud music before I actually see the car where the noise is coming from
I'm amazed these drivers can actually think while at a stop light, if they would ever hear a siren/ambulance would they pull over?
They'll be deaf before they know it,wonder how it happened

When I have got 50's rock and roll on my car stereo, it's blasting. Same with 60's rock and roll and folk music. I was driving down the street where one of my sisters live. I had the Rolling Stones blasting away. When I pulled into her driveway, she told me that she could hear me coming down the road. I thought, "Mission accomplished." :giggle:

They may be deaf already! Sometimes they drive past our house with music that rattles our windows. I honestly don't understand why music has to be that loud!

When I was younger, I sometimes cranked it up when I had to drive long distances late at night, but there was scarcely any traffic. And I certainly didn't blast music in residential areas.

yes I do that too... you're not disturbing anyone out in the rural roads ...but the trouble is when people then turn into where we have our homes here in the lanes off the open roads .. they don't turn the music down.. My house vibrates...
The local Fed Ex driver who delivers to my building—in the morning—always leaves his music blaring in the parking lot while he's inside the building, usually for 10 to 15 minutes. I keep meaning to contact the local office and ask them to have him turn it down when he's not actually driving.

This sort of lack of self-awareness is a huge pet peeve of mine.

No..that would be the final for me... I wouldn't stand for that. 1 minute is long enough... 15 minutes is entirely unacceptable. I would have reported that long ago...

Maybe they're used to it and are able to concentrate sufficiently while driving. But it's annoying as hell and could certainly be dangerous if an ambulance or cop car is coming, full sirens, but they can't hear because the music is so loud. I think people who do this think it's cool or it makes them seem cool or are oblivious to how much of a nuisance it is.

Every time Stevie Wonder comes on the radio singing "Isn't She Lovely", I turn the volume up high because there is a funky bass player who is terrific. Also Frank Sinatra singing "I've Got You Under My Skin", up full volume because there is a great Trombone player swinging it. I just finished playing it on full blast. Don't care what the neighbours think.

My wife prefers the satellite radio but in my truck without that feature I have a playlist that I listen to alternating with favorite CD's. I have hearing aids and adjust them to eliminate road noise, so I crank up the volume for my favorite tunes.

Some vehicular car stereos could be classified as environmental assault weapons, and you don’t even have to be driving yourself to hear them! In my home even with windows closed, the throbbing stereos of passing cars coupled with their poorly-muffled roaring engines can rattle windows and drown out conversation and television. It ain’t Mozart that they’re playing, either, but rap music, fueled with anger and laced with obscenities…. 😫

My wife and I go everywhere together, my pet peve is my wife telling me how to drive and not being able to have my windows down or listen to my favorite music. i am a prisoner in my car. They say love isa sacrifice?

LOL. Same here. I finally have decided to ride in the passenger seat and let Misa do the driving, and the food selection, and the plans for the farm, and the decisions to secure a stable environment here. We men are mere servants of the fairer sex. Wee men. A new best seller "Little Men".

My complaint is getting stuck at one of Mobile's interminably long traffic signals next to a car that is playing loud rap music. Nothing like sitting there waiting 2-3 minutes for the light to change and having to listen to that crap.
