Lovely Smell...

Open windows folks...

What about security, especially while you're sleeping?

I always sleep with my back patio door open at night (unless thunderstorms or hot weather) ... I'm on the 3rd floor of an apartment building with no outside access. I get southerly winds blowing thru this time of the year.

Because of my lungs I had to give up aerosol room fresheners. So a few yrs ago I bought a generic Scentsy. I prefer lavender or lilac wax. The last one I used was a lavender so I bought a bottle of lavender essential oil & I dribble some of it into my Scentsy with the wax & it fills the house with the soothing scent.

Does it ever! And it lasts for days...

WAY better (and more frugal) than any store-bought potpourri that I've ever tried.
I rarely burn scented candles or use potpourri. Only if someone gives them as gifts, and only then if they smell like food. Pumpkin pie, apple cinnamon, etc. Most floral scents smell very artificial to me. My house is neutral scented so I'm not looking to cover anything up.

I burn scented candles from fall until spring, and always cinnamon, hazelnut, and pumpkin & spice, no floral... and like yourself, I prefer a neutral smelling house, too, but do love a little kick-me-up every now and then, and that's where the simmering of cinnamon sticks comes into play. :)
