Personally I don't remember it, but I wouldn't.... however here the budget airlines, specifically Ryanair have said they are likely to sell those standing seats for between £1-£5....I wouldn’t even consider flying anywhere while seated in one of these seats. Even if they sold $1 tickets like Spirit Airlines did in 2011.
Remember that fare war back then? It was for tickets between LAX and LAS.
Remember when stewardesses escorted you to your seat, served full course meals, plus mixed drinks, and apologized if the napkins weren't crispy white. Now, you're lucky if the don't brand you as you run down the cattle shoot to your hanging area..No... it says it has been approved for up to 2 hours and will start in 2006... Ryanair the budget airline to beat all budget airlines.. who penny pinch on evrything are the first to have them installed
I usually fly first or business class. I like to be comfortable.Personally I don't remember it, but I wouldn't but here the budget airlines, specifically Ryanair have said they are likely to sell those standing seats for between £1-£5....
No, I'm not that old....Remember when stewardesses escorted you to your seat, served full course meals, plus mixed drinks, and apologized if the napkins weren't crispy white.
I know you do.. but I've never been able to afford first or business class..... ..maybe I'll be one of the first to try a standing seat... for a Pound...I usually fly first or business class. I like to be comfortable.
Seriously, doubt that's gonna be a happening with air fairs. Considering the average cost to park in the parking lot runs $30 - $70 a day here.I know you do.. but I've never been able to afford first or business class..... ..maybe I'll be one of the first to try a standing seat... for a Pound...![]()
Did you notice the seat is creased to accept urine in it. Now you can wonder whose urine you just sat on. Oh the degradation! ...And to save more Airplane space, there will be no more bathrooms. You'll have to pee in a Ruffles Potato Chip bag...then toss it out the window at a low altitude.
Why don’t you consider getting an airlines credit card. Once you reach “x” amount of points, you will be able to use those points for a free upgrade. That’s usually what I do. I only get a coach seat free. Well, sometimes I get a free upgrade if all the seats in FC or BC are not sold.I know you do.. but I've never been able to afford first or business class..... ..maybe I'll be one of the first to try a standing seat... for a Pound...![]()
Good idea, I already have one airline credit card... might be worth me getting a different one...Why don’t you consider getting an airlines credit card. I have seen people do that same thing. They ask at the gate if the FC and/or BC seats are all sold and if the gate agent says no, you can ask for a free upgrade. Gate Agents have the ability to upgrade your ticket, or even give you a really nice discount. It’s worth a shot.
I heard about 3 or 4 years ago that these things were coming. When they didn't show up, I thought we were done with them for good. I don't fly anymore so it doesn't personally bother me, except if I decide to fly again, which is unlikely. But the idea is retched.Several budget airlines will reportedly introduce standing-only seating options next year.
I fully expect that is what will happen . I think somewhere it was said that they would take up 20 % of the space....I wonder if instead of a full plane of those seats the airlines will dedicate a section to the standing seats. I see better odds of people using them that way, if conventional seating is booked full I'd consider a seat like that for a short flight if I was desperate.
First of all it's only going to be Budget airlines who will use this system, and only for flights less than 2 hours. The first budget airline to confirm they will use them is the money grubbing Airline Ryanair, and their CEO said yesterday that intially the tickets for those standing seats will cost between £1-£5... of course that's conjecture, we'll wait and see..I heard about 3 or 4 years ago that these things were coming. Now, I haven't read the thread, and I probably won't, but how much will it cost to stand and fly?
apparently that's just a prototype, there's no guarantee that will be the shape...They look about as comfortable as a bicycle seat .. ouch!
You should submit that to Boeing. They must have overlooked it.I think the airlines should make the seating horizontal, stack us up like firewood. I'd rather lay down for a few hours than sit in any airline seat, let alone a stand up seat.
I don't care what kind of seats they have, you couldn't lure me into flying again with a suitcase full of Rib Eye steaks. We can vote with our pocketbooks. I won't be riding planes with these seats.
