Madonna and her late concerts

Fans have sued Madonna as her concerts began two hours late. Apparently she often starts late - but that's surely unacceptable?

I love theatre and concerts but I wouldn't ever stand for such arrogant behaviour no matter who the star is, it's highly unprofessional. People have travel arrangements and commitments, they have paid good money for expensive tickets.

I have fortunately very rarely experienced any show being more than a few minutes late, most performers value their audience and wouldn't do that to them. Madonna is in my view very arrogant indeed.

My DD just saw her last week. She knew Madonna would be late and she was. They left the show early to catch the last subway back to their car. It was 2 a.m. by the time they got home; it would have been about midnight if the show was on time.

Agreed! to have the audacity to keep people waiting routinely for hours after they've paid fortunes to line your pockets.. is beyond all rudeness...

It’s never ok to leave people waiting but sometimes it can’t be helped due to circumstances. Being 2 hours late for your own concerts aren’t those circumstances.
Thats just plain inconsiderate.

There’s a few vocal divas who seem to think they are above the law and better than others . Singing well is certainly a gift but who wants to hear that voice if it’s two hours late.

Shame on Madonna. I saw her in Toronto in the ā€˜80’s and she was amazing BUT on time.

Apparently she said hello Boston to a Toronto crowd than made a sarcastic joke about Lady Gaga. They don’t get along.

Was it worth it?

It’s VERY unprofessional. These are her fans. A professional treats their fans most respectfully with the full knowledge that they wouldn’t be there if it weren’t for them.
Disrespectful arrogance has consequences.
Taylor Swift would never do this. Just saying. šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

Yes. Very, very loud though. Once the tickets are purchased $$$$ you go no matter the time. They were originally supposed to be for a weekend night so being late wouldn’t have been so bad.

I have nothing good to say about Madonna and maybe I shouldn't share them on here, but here goes.....

She grew up a few houses from me. I remember her as a strange kid and very "different". She never made friends and no one liked her. She actually turned the whole town against her when she had an interview years ago and said she was raised in a "smelly" town and would never go back there. The town she was talking about (my hometown) had a sugar beet factory and that's the "smell" she was talking about. It wasn't all the time that it smelled but she always gave the impression she was better than everyone else. I'll stop there. I could tell you more, but I won't.

With the concerts I have seen there is usually an opening performer/ band. They usually took up a good hour.. That never bothered me as we were having a good time 😊.

Is there an article that shows what you say?

I would see her if I had the cash vI like her a lot. I don't know the specifics of what's going on with some kind of waiting because I've seen no proof yet. Still people love to judge and especially since she was the kind of star she was or is.

A friend recently invited my niece to a Madonna concert in Toronto. While she wasn't really a Madonna fan before, she left with glowing praise about the concert and Madonna's performance.

As for late starts to concerts, rare indeed did concerts start on time back when I frequently attended them. Axl Rose was notorious for showing up hours late, as was/is(?) Kanye West and plenty of others. I saw Phoebe Snow back in the 70s. She was two hours late.

In addition to Madonna's musical talents, she's known for attention-getting behavior and making outrageous statements, as are a whole lot of celebrities. I shrug it off. Not my circus, not my monkeys.

If I like the music I listen to it, and don't pay too much mind to the rest of it.

I saw MaDonna mid ā€˜80’s at the CNE centre in Toronto. We had close seats and the performance was amazing. She sang and danced her butt off. There’s no doubt that she’s an amazing entertainer. I never thought she’d intentionally belittle herself for the world to see. I find it difficult liking a performer if I don’t respect them.
