How tragic. The man sounds like he is mentally ill. How did he get the weapons? Just good enough to go to the store and purchase very expensive guns and ammo? There are troubled people who get the weapons and then in a "episode" decide it is a popular thing now to just go on a shooting spree. This is an epidemic.

Some people may think "at least he killed no humans", but I think that this slaughter is horrible too. In my opinion the bible with Genesis 1:28 contributes to it:

I think the killing of the animals was a dress rehearsal for what he really wanted- the power of life and death over humans. I think if they didn't catch him, he would have been back , sooner or later, with an attack on people.

I find it interesting that everyone is worked up about a guy shooting 81 animals himself and meanwhile, globally, humanity is responsible for raising and shipping 85 billion animals that have been horribly treated, into slaughterhouses where they'll be killed most brutally by a variety of means that do not prevent suffering by any stretch of the imagination. Interesting disconnect.

Unlike most people, I interpret this as meaning, 'I give you responsibility for all creatures'. Too many people think this means that animals are put on the earth purely for the benefit of humans to treat as they wish.

Yes, but mosquitos don't kill people intentionally. They transmit diseases which may kill people. And they don't know that they do this. That's a huge difference to serial killers.
