My grandson is an electrical lineman and due to our big storms this week,he has been gone restoring power. So this morning my granddaughter-in-law posted this about our greatgrandson Luke.....

"
Aaron has been away working these storms and Luke has been missing him. Luke asked me if he could go outside and check the rat trap him and Aaron set and I said no because it was raining and I didn’t want to deal with it accidentally snapping off his finger or finding a rat. I don’t do rats, dead or alive.
🤢
Well he doesn’t listen and decides to go outside. I keep doing what I’m doing and notice he’s running in the back yard back and forth while it’s raining. Whatever, kids will be kids let him enjoy the rain barefoot with no jacket on.
😒

He comes in a few minutes later all calm like nothing happens and says, “Mom I took care of it.” You took care of what? “I did what my dad told me to do and picked up the dead rat with the poop scooper and took it over to the poop bucket.” I was shocked to say the least. How was he this calm like he just saw a dead rat and took care of it. I was freaking out screaming go wash your hands.
🤣
🤣

Im laughing hysterically because what 5 year old just takes care of a dead rat like it’s not a big deal. I then make him go back outside and put it in a trash bag so his sister or dog doesn’t get into it.
🤢

Needless to say, he’s been the man of the house this past week and he’s going to make the best husband/daddy some day.

That's so great. I'm sure that both you and his parents are proud of him. This is one of those stories parents tell about their children over and over again.
