Man Was Banned From A Starbucks For Ratting Out Illegal Handicap Parking Spot Users

A man WAS banned from a Tampa Starbucks for life after he publically called out Starbuck's customers who used handicapped parking spots illegally. The store manager cried he was disturbing their customers. Well they wouldn't have been disturbed if other Starbucks customers hadn't been ILLEGALLY using a handicapped parking spot. Sounds like enabling illegal behavior for profit.

Apparently after story got out the ban was lifted.

I see this offense all the time. It seems that more often than not the person who has just parked in a handicap spot hops out of the car and walks briskly into the store. These are the same people who never return their shopping cart to the shopping cart corral. Grumble, grumble.

My recent (and thank God over with) encounter with needing handicap parking made me acutely aware of how important those spots are to those who need them. There was a time before my new hips that managing to get into a store even with a walker was just about more than I could manage -- I never before realized how long a distance the trip from car to store could be until it was so hard for me to make it. AND, I had to go only to stores that had those motorized carts, which more often than not were being used by teenagers just goofing around. Which meant I had to struggle back to my car.

Hats off to the person who complained! Those spots (and the carts, too) are there for those who need them.

I've never parked in a handicapped parking place to my knowledge. I can't imagine doing so.
