March 2020 ~ Tell us how your day is going~ Any Green Beer Stories???

Got a root canal tooth that didn't have enough bone to hold the pricey crown in yanked out at the dentists. No pain meds, but got a script for penicillin just in case I'd need it. Glad its out.

Dentist office is shutting down for a month. A couple will be there for emergencies, though.

Late yesterday afternoon, my close friend Marcia called offering to take me grocery shopping this morning at 6:50.I'm up and awake at this hour anyways.
We went to local grocery store TOPS which usually is opened 24/7 but that has changed. They opened at 6,it felt strange to be in the store this early I wasn't complaining.I saw a few customers, mostly store employees as they were restocking shelves.I found most of what I needed,we were finished within 20min.As we were coming home, the sun was rising
The rest of my day I'll take advantage of the sun being out ,take my walks ,read NYT and my book

G'day Folks, Well it's Wednesday, and we are all staying away from people, and hiding out on our own property, how is that going for everyone... Yesterday we did breakfast here instead of going to our restaurant...

Today, I fixed the sump pump outside pipe temporarily till the ground softens up, so I can replumb it, and then dig down, and bury the pipe in the ground.

Also had to glue the skimmer on the pool, she cracked over the winter... and I brought the battery charger up, so I can charge the battery for the tractor...

So, that about it for today... I hope YOU all have a great and safe evening, and God Bless YOU all

Hi Mike..it's going alright for me. Glad things are okay for you, too.

I've been cleaning my apt. today. Almost encountered someone in the hallway but quickly went back to my apt. I wore gloves to pick my package up in the lobby. Am letting it sit till tomorrow. Any germs should be dead then.

The Property Manager where I live called me today and told me she would do some shopping for me if I need anything. That was so nice of her. I don't have to worry about running out of food now. I have been getting food deliveries but last time they only had half of what I ordered, yet, better than nothing. This is the best place I have ever lived, they really care. ☺ 🌺 (y) 🌟 ✨ 🦝🐯🐧🐗🦋🦉

Just keeping my "house" in order, washing my hands all the time..they are starting to get raw. Gotto put some lotion on them.

So, I'm just listening to music again. It helps with the anxiety from all of this.🐥🦄🦕🐠

More cleaning!

Getting bored!

I've noticed that I'm becoming more mindful of the products that I use and being careful to conserve them as much as possible.

I've also noticed as I plan my next little shopping trip that I feel like I'm planning a camping trip to a wilderness area with no stores! Thinking about arranging for delivery but still not sold on the idea.

I went down to get the mail for the first time this week and managed to go down two flights of stairs and back up without touching the railing or the wall but I did wash my hands after I went through the mail.

I noticed that the apartment manager has posted a notice near the mailboxes saying that the office is closed until further notice and that the maintenance staff will not enter an apartment or make repairs for anything other than what they consider to be an emergency.

I can't help but think that this virus will change our habits for years to come.

I went on my early walk at 6am, I won't be able to go outside for the rest of the day due to high wind warning. It was light rain,a little breezy unseasonably warm in low 60's.I went back to bed slept a 1/2 hr
The rest of my day I plan to vacuum my bedroom, read NYT and finish my book
I'll get my exercise by walking up/down the stairs

Good morning!

I made an early morning run to the local Walmart to stock up for the week.

I arrived approx. 10 minutes before the store opened, they have shortened the hours from 7:00 am - 8:30 pm, and there were approx. fifty people in line waiting. I stayed in my car until the doors opened and the initial line went into the store. I was also able to grab a trolley that had been left out in the wind and the rain overnight hoping that Mother Nature may have disinfected it for me.

The fresh produce section was well stocked but the rest of the grocery area, meat, dairy, etc... were at least 2/3-3/4 depleted. I didn't notice much restocking the associates seemed to be busy straightening shelves. Still no toilet paper. I was able to find the things that I needed most by making a few substitutions and I'm set for the week ahead.

For the most part, people were quiet and maintaining a safe distance from each other as they shopped. I was annoyed by one man about my age wearing rubber gloves that insisted on getting in my face to tell me about buying SPAM for the first time in many years. I was rude but it makes me crazy that he would wear gloves and then get within spitting distance of people.

I agree with @StarSong that it's beginning to feel like a war-torn country. I've never seen the stores so depleted and then not being able to quickly restock. I'm very concerned about the beginning of the month when the SNAP benefits are posted to people's accounts. Partly because of concerns over availability but also because I noticed that many of the products remaining on the shelves are the high-end national brands as opposed to the basic generic products that I would normally buy.

Stay safe and have a great weekend!

Wow! I never thought about SNAP benefits causing more focused pressure on scant resources. Apparently every state has its own benefit loading schedule. California's is staggered through the first ten days of each month. I'll double check my supplies in a week and try to hit the stores before April 1st.

Thanks for the tip, @Aunt Bea!

Went to CVS last night to see if they had any toilet paper...don't want to run out during this isolation. They were out and put up notice of all they they are out of and said they don't know when more will be stocked. I feel they probably know but don't want people storming the store when the TP comes in and taking it all--like they do. Plus they know people will come back checking for TP more often now and when they don't see it they'll buy other stuff like I did....;)So, I got more kleenex for when my TP runs out.

I also got some paper towels, dishwashing soap that said it is also an antibacterial hand soap, laundry detergent that was on sale for half price. There weren't many in the store but I did hear one man cough--funny now how somebody coughing in a store can alert you. The cashier seemed to be talking too much to me but I surely didn't say it. I have become more conscious of people coughing and talking a lot as they say it's a way the virus can spread--that is if they have it--but then thinking back later that she seemed well and she wasn't coughing.

Anyways, got my items and walked home. For today just going to try and relax and not worry about the state of the country--it will surely all work itself out in time like it always does. ⚡🌺🌹🌷

My Chewy.com package should be here today or tomorrow and like the last package I will, with disposable gloves on, put it in "isolation" when it gets here and then the next day will spray it lightly with Lysol. Then on the 3rd day I'll open it and empty the contents.

Like most companies they are behind in their deliveries by a few days. They are excellent, though, for the most part to get pet supplies from.

Stay safe and healthy everyone ✌ 🦉

Hi all. I have been working at trying to keep my stress level at bay....
I thought I would stop in on this thread, and say hello to all of you.

I'm sorting out some bits of old stacks of things, in my apartment . Feels good to do, when I can manage it.

I see out the window that some early Springtime green things are sprouting from the dirt outdoors, despite a return dip into below-freezing temps.

@MarciKS This is the March thread. That was the February one , where you posted your update, today.

@Kaila - Thanks. I'm sorry. Since I'm new I'm trying to get this site figured out. Thanks.

I get upper respiratory infections when the seasons change. I have one now. Got antibiotic and steroid shot on Friday. They told us at work to self screen or stay home when sick so, since I'm still having a tough time with my breathing today I decided it was best that I stay home. I'm off tomorrow as well so I can get some rest.
Also keeping busy making a new blog site.

When I went on my early walk this morning around 6:40,a tad nippy 26 felt colder with slight breeze
It really felt eerie seeing only 4 cars as I walked to 2 blocks to buy local paper
The rest of my day, read the paper, did some cleaning with my disenfectant wipes. My mid morning walk,2 times around apt complex. After lunch&nap another one around community garden circle

This morning at 9 I have appt at my bank since they are no longer allowing groups of people in the lobby.
Afterwards, come home, start calling members on my Canopy of Neighbor list to see how they are&if they need anything

Good Morning...
Well just waking up, finally got some sleep after 48 hours of NO Sleep. Got very very thin snow on the lawn right now... Don't think it's going to last very long...

I don't know if I read it here, and I don't mean to steal anyone's posts... But is it possible to unplug the year 2020, reboot, and start over...

Well, I hope YOU all have the best day you can... Keep Safe... and God Bless...

Hello all, just getting caught up to what everyone is up to, had a big project not leaving me with enough Me Time.

Someone I know started a baby blanket, guess who finished it. A nice person with absolutely no idea of how to sew but wanted to give her first grandbaby a special gift. No money exchanged hands but she did bring me a nice gift.

Nice to be back.

Hi to everyone.... I am honestly finding it increasingly difficult, to manage my fears, but am doing the best I can. Coming here helps to lower the isolated feelings. I thank you all for that.

@MarciKS Are you feeling any better, today? I hope so.

@Kaila A bit but, not enough to go in tomorrow. They advised if we were sick to stay home and right now I'm not comfortable with how lousy I feel and the idea of going back just yet. In fact, going to go sleep some more.

I think its a good idea for you to stay home, as much as you can, for the moment @MarciKS
You don't want to possibly risk adding any more to your usual respiratory problem.

Its good to hear from you.

Kaila, I feel the same way. Just take a deep breath and try to stay calm with me. I don't know if you're a believer or not but, I am basically depending on God with my very life right now. I trust that I can walk through the fire and he will be with me. That he won't let me fall. Wrap yourself up in the love of Jesus and hold tight. We will get through this. We have to. And we must encourage one another.

I called the drs office to see if they could send a fax over to work to keep me home til until Monday. I am waiting to make sure the fax goes through. I'm getting better but, it's slow and I'm not up to par to work right now. I think with some rest I should be ok. There's just too much risk with me being like this for me to be going to work.
