March Madness is Here Again!

Paladin1950

Still love 50's & 60's music!
Now that my favorite team will make the tournament finally, I'll watch the selection show next week for the seedings. It's been awhile since St. John's has been in the Big Dance. I guess Auburn will be the favorite to win it all. Then it will be over and I'll be able to focus all of my attention on my favorite sport. Baseball!

Woo hoo! My team just won the Big East Tournament! They also finished in 1st place at the end of the regular schedule, with a 30-4 record.
Go St John's! Tomorrow is Selection Sunday, where all college basketball fans find out if their team will make it to the Big Dance.

I don't watch sports. My husband never did and my son rarely does. But I'm exposed to this March Madness madness because the anchors on GMA and so into sports. I get a kick out of how excited they get when reporting on the amazing players. So I'll see little snippets of the plays and will certainly find out who makes the cut. How exciting for those young athletes. I'm glad to see women's basketball is getting the attention it deserves.

If I were to start watching any sport, it would be basketball. I took my son to see The Harlem Globetrotters when he was young and could actually follow the game (unlike football). We enjoyed it.

I've got Tennessee to win with Florida, Auburn and Duke in the finals.

I base my picks on deep knowledge of the sport. Like who has the best uniforms and if they have a song -- Kansas always goes far in my bracket. For years I thought the Tennessee Vols had those little field mice as mascots.

I printed out the women’s bracket and made my picks. I follow the women because my daughter and two granddaughters played college basketball, one granddaughter professionally in Europe. My son coached high school girls basketball and a couple of his players were on Division I teams.

Huge Notre Dame fan here because they have always had a player from NJ starting at point guard. The 3 Mabry sisters and now Hildago. Look for Sonia Citron to be in the top 5 drafted by the WNBA.

Best time of year.

So far so good, I had Auburn and Creighton today. Still, those tough little Hornets had my admiration for trying so hard against the much bigger Auburn players. That's the trouble with this tournament, they're all so young and so crushed when they lose.

Slow start for St. John's, but they started an avalanche and buried Omaha, by 30 points. They will have to get off to a better start against Arkansas.

My Memphis and Kansas lost. Maybe picking teams by music wasn't such a good plan after all.

So much for my run at this as the WI Badgers fell to BYU. I was surprised it finished as close as it did as BYU seemed to out play WI in every facet of the game. Maybe I will continue to watch BYU as they will probably be the underdog if they keep winning.

Grand Canyon College got clobbered by Maryland but it was expected. GCC is getting better each year and moves to the Mountain West next season.
