Masks and Social Distancing in Public

Will there ever come a day when these procedures will be done away with?

As soon as schools opened up again, COVID cases took an upswing here. A local school was closed today because of a case. Why are children exempt from wearing masks?

I don't think an "All Clear" will be announced any time within a 12 month period given possible treatments and vaccines. Realistically 2022 is more likely. Example: How will we know who has had the vaccine if we are in a public place?

With every month that goes by, I feel like I have been cheated out of a month of my life. With all the lockdowns and quarantines, if you go to a state that requires it, it makes traveling unappealing.

We always enjoyed driving up through the Northeast or down through the Shenandoah or Great Smokey’s this time of the year. This year, no can do. Just doesn’t feel the same.

I would really like to do the Ozark‘s.

I think it depends on how effective the vaccine ultimately is. If we find out that those who are vaccinated both avoid getting it themselves and also do not host enough virus to spread it to others I think it will happen sooner. If it protects the vaccinated person but not to the point that they can't become a spreader then it might be longer.

I wore a mask on Sunday morning when I went to the local flea market for about an hour and I wore a mask today when I ran a couple of errands for a total of about a half-hour.

I don't really see these simple measures that we've been asked to take as a big inconvenience that keeps me from doing the things that I need/want to do.

Here in England and Wales..the exemption is for children up to the age of 11

My life is different from a year ago, but I don't feel cheated or annoyed. Life is a series of adjustments.
I've certainly dealt with longer, more taxing, frightening, unpleasant periods during which I've felt far more powerless.

This too shall pass.

My grandkids, 11 and 8 need to wear a mask at school. I did ask the 11 yr old how he likes school and his mine beef was sanitizing after touching items. I would have thought it would be the mask. I wear a mask in the stores but not on the street - I just keep my distance.

Today I went to have blood drawn... wore a mask through the grounds of the hospital and inside.....took it off when I got back to the car.

Then into town and the shops.. wore the mask in every shop I went into... and the Mall... took it off outside in the precinct where it was easy to keep 2 metres apart from everyone.

In essence, as well as a public indoors .. wherever there are people , and I'm going to be fairly close to them, I wear a mask.

My family lives across the country. Their cases in that province are worse than mine & I don’t want to get on a plane. Other than not seeing family, I’m doing semi ok. I don’t care abut wearing the mask, I’m fine with it.

I despise wearing a mask, but I do. I just try to get in and out as fast as possible. I get to feeling "panicky" after an hour or less.

I really need to make a plane trip, but there's no way i can wear a mask for 6 hours, especially "airline approved" ones. My wings are clipped....

Why "cheated," 911? Driving through the beautiful autumn countryside and seeing the foliage still seems to be something we can do. Is it the idea of staying in hotels that puts you off?

C'mon down! We live just a few miles North of the Lake of the Ozarks, and the Fall months are the nicest time of the year, IMO. The temps are mild, and the trees turning colors are beautiful. There are few restrictions in this area, since most of the locals are doing a good job of wearing masks and avoiding crowds. The Only spikes in this virus are occurring in the crowded cities...among the bar hoppers, college students, and a couple of food processing plants. There have been no problems reported at the hotels/motels, and many of the restaurants are open...with limited seating protocols. We attended a great granddaughters volleyball game yesterday afternoon, at a local high school, and the fans all wore masks, and stayed a reasonable distance from each other, and the kids had a really good time.
