A gunman opened fire on a restaurant in Toronto in a mass shooting that left one dead and 13 injured including a nine-year-old girl, before he too was killed.Witnesses say that a man dressed in black opened fire in Greektown on Danforth, a popular area of the city full of restaurants and stores, at around 10pm on Sunday evening. Between 15 and 20 gunshots were heard.
Police have confirmed that the shooter was killed after getting into a shootout with police.
A cellphone video, which appears to have been taken by someone in an apartment above the street, captured the shooter wearing a black hoodie and walking down the street.
Suddenly he turns as he is passing a restaurant, before pulling out a handgun and opening fire.

The gunman shot at least 14 people, killing a young woman. The woman died in hospital after succumbing to her injuries. Several other victims reportedly suffered 'significant injuries'.

Condolences to the victims and their families

You're so right Warrigal, it is incredible the death toll was low , R.I.P young lady.:(.. the sheer randomness of it must have taken people by total surprise and shock. Excellent work from the Toronto Police force...

I have relatives in Toronto, this is the second incident in a few months. So shocking to Canadians as a whole, the people in TO are totally shocked. Statistics Canada released new stats today on the increase of weapon related deaths - that too is shocking. We tend to think we are so peaceful and for the most part we are..... the TO shooting last night certainly negates that though.

I've been reading some worries about this seeming rise in these crimes in Canada. It's scary to think it must be the times we live in. I hope the trend settles back down.
