Massacre avoided or just avoiding arrest and prosecution your thoughts?

Do you think this would have been another mass murder situation that was thankfully avoided? Of course, sorry for the harm that happened to the young child and may he pay dearly for that crime.

These were reported before further investigative information came to light.

The material for explosives to me is cause for investigating a planned attack. Using going to gay pride parade a politically correct excuse he thought would help? Three weapons? -Almost sounds like he was going to sell them.

Still confused. He assaulted a young girl yet mentioned something about his ex boyfriend. Sounds like they got a child predator off the streets!

As far terrorist threats some experts say being Ramadan is the biggest motivator or rational for many attacks, not ideology like being anti gay.
 
Any paedophile is a person whose elevator bypasses the top floor. Perhaps this pervert is also dealing with homosexual tendencies which he is unable to accept. Acting out violently toward gays is consistent with this type of pathology. Or scarier still, perhaps he is just a rage machine looking for a mass target.

Actually, he had an ex-boyfriend whom he raged against.

I'm glad that they got this guy before he could commit mayhem, my son lives there and is part of the community.

It does appear that way, but what's up with the explosives, I wonder if it was going to turn into a last stand, seems he may have been headed in such a direction, seems he was starting to stockpile assault weapons, mask and other arsenal. Friends say he wasn't a gun enthusiast so kind of hard to explain the sudden collection.

Howell was interviewed by a police detective in the case on June 7. Five days later, he was arrested in Santa Monica, where police found explosives and three assault rifles in his car. According to KTLA, police also found a knife, Taser, handcuffs, a black hood and a security badge. He told police he was on his way to the L.A. Pride parade in West Hollywood.
