Massive Fire In 200 Year Old Museum in Brazil. Priceless Artifacts Lost

Yes, I heard about this on NPR this morning. What a tragedy for Brazil. But why didn't a museum with so many precious items have a better fire control system?

Maybe they'll be able to find and restore a few things like the fossil of the first man in Brazil.
It's a tragedy for the world, so much history lost.

What I find frustrating is that Brazil/Rio found money for the 2016 Olympics but apparently not this national treasure. The Olympics should've triggered more visitors and evidence that it needs a bigger budget. I'm glad many local people are upset at this and realize their government is failing them. Hopefully this will spur change. I can't believe somekind of historical society, group or charity doesn't help fund museums like this world wide.

I haven't heard too many updates but something seems suspicious it happened after hours. I was also stunned of how fast it spread even with brick walls. But there was one report where fire hydrants didn't work so they had to pump water from a lake.
