Ageing can be humbling as well as annoying.
If we have basically good health, we tend to take mobility for granted. I'm very guilty of this, and 9 days of increasing shifting lower back pain sent me to an ER/Urgent Care type place Wednesday. They did a CT scan and i have both compression of some lumbar vertebrae and fractures of the sacral bones (between lumbar and cocyx). But at least i know why it hurts so bad and the pain keeps shifting. Movement shifts the no longer stable bones and different nerves get negatively stimulated each time.

This is not good news, still struggling to get my Rx for pain delivered and make appointment with orthopedist--but at least i know why i feel it so intensely, especially when i stand & walk. Also gratified to know i didn't just turn into delicate flower suddenly, there's just cause for moans, gasps, groans and more.

On the upside, discovered my insurance has affiliation with something called Safe Ride to get to and from medical appointments (have to schedule 2 days ahead), and home if when discharged from a facility.

Friday: Had trouble getting the pain Rx, long story, so today am actually in hospital. Wow have they gotten a lot of cool toys since my last stay some 20 yrs ago!! Tired but charge nurse will be back to over more stuff so just going to relax, maybe play a video game.

Talk to y'all tomorrow.

Has there been any progress, feywon?
Still didn't have meds by Friday morning so came to hospital (not just urgent care type). Admitted. They are being good to me tho like any large institution/organization there are some procedural and communication issues.Have had an X-Ray and another CT (positioning to get very painful). Orthopedist should come today with treatment plan.

Wishing you good luck. Have been stuck in hospital and nursing home routine since October. Sorry you are in pain.
You’re a much calmer person than me I think so hopefully you’ll do well in the recovery.
Be well
